Bio-Hazard Battle for Wii VC

Post by Erik »

Discovered this game today and noticed it is available for Wii VC. The screen shots look quite interesting.

Looks like the game is resembling the same enemy and level design as Apidya for the Amiga, with the insects and beasts replacing the space ships and robots.

I played a lot of Apidya, but don't own an Amiga anymore. Yes - I miss the game, it is awesome and one of my favourite shooters!

Can BHB even be compared with Apidya in terms of play and overall feel, or does the resemblance stop with the graphics?
Having only played Apidya I would be interested in some opinions.

BHB really has nothing to do with Apidya gameplay-wise, other than the fact that they are both Horis. Apidya is based on Gradius, whereas BHB has four selectable ships with variable weaponry. I would say it's closer to something like Air Buster in feel, although a bit more methodical.

Actually, I think that even the graphics are not really all that similar. BHB plays nothing like Apidya. It's a very fine game, though, and very well worth the download for the unsettling music alone.
