? About the "Shooting Love" collections

Post by evil_ash_xero »

How come in Psikyo Shooting Love Vol. 2 and 3, when you have to continue in the later levels, it makes you start from the beginning of the stage? I'm not good enough for this!

It's not like that in MAME.

Any way around this crap?

What are you talking about?
Did Psikyo also use the "Shooting Love" name?

I think Psikyo has always done that in their ports. The Strikers port on playstation did it, as does Gunbird 2 on dreamcast.
Feedback will set you free.

Hah!, not in the arcade?
I was not aware of this factoid having never seen or played an arcade psikyo shmup in the wild.
I guess all shmup devs should've don this with their ports to prevent these narrow minded kind of reviews:

"I played through the game in 17 minutes and I'm never coming back"

The Japanese region ones send you back on later levels, the U.S. ones don't (in the arcade and in mame).

Clever posts. (I seem to like every Bill post I read.)

And yet, it does take a certain masochism not to give up on Gunbird 2 after it completely destroys you over and over again. I'm getting to the 1-4 boss consistently now. Perhaps in the next week I'll get a new high score.
