For the most part i'm a vert guy. However, i played Sengoku Blade for the first time recently and was quite surprised at how well Psikyo translates horizontally.
By the looks of it Raizing never made a horizontal. What about 8ing, Yagawa, or anyone involved with the Raizing masterpieces - have any of them ever put their magic touch on a horizontal shmup? If not, are there any horizontals reminiscent of a Raizing game?

Soukugurentai was a Raizing/8ing horizontal. Fun game too. You can always check out the world-of-arcades.com site for information about all your favorite Raizing/8ing games.

I think the term is "damn, most of the installed cabs with this hardware platform are yoko".

It's in the glossary.
to the OP: I genuinely can't think of any. I'm interested in seeing one as well.

What's the Closest Thing to a Raizing Horizontal?
The correct answer is: No.

Just cut your wrists. Has about the same effect and entertainment value as playing Progear.

Love Raizing, don't like Progear at all.
But it's just different tastes, gonna nip the thread derail in the bud, let's not turn this into a Progear/Cave hate/defense thread.

yokohorizontal games just look ugly. If you're going to have a predominant vertical field of movement, it needs to be longer than it is wide, regardless of bullet pace.

I really like vertizontal games.
Border Down has some scatters of tiny small, slow bullets if thats any similarity

One thing, though - many games like Twin Cobra are essentially vert-scrolling yokos anyway, as you're meant to scroll the background all over. All that stuff in the background moving can be a distraction, particularly in a faster game.

I guess some people would kill for something like this
Yagawa move your ass
And make it real 2d not DS2 shit.
Does anyone here know if he is still at Cave? Or did he just got a nice place at the window for "failing" with his games?

Nah, it's missing ridiculous amounts of explosions and debris so Cave players do not see bullets and items clearly
