Lotus Plaza - The Floodlight Collective
Kylesa - Static Tensions

Got to see Leonard Cohen perform live the other night. He put on a pretty solid and lengthy (3 hours) show for someone 70+.

Best album ever! Probably.

Listening to the new Warrior Soul album titled 'Chinese Democracy' (yeah). No John Ricco, so it's obviously not going to live up to their best stuff (e.g. Last Decade, Dead Century - awesome album), but it's a lot better than I was expecting. Kory Clarke's voice is kinda shot to pieces these days, but the album still kicks ass, so that's ok.

nothing new recently, pretty much listening to Stars on repeat :

Stars - In Our Bedroom After the War
Stars - Heart
Stars - Set Yourself on fire
Stars - Sad Robot EP

(we pretend that Nightsongs doesn't exist ;) )

and Live at the Oblivion ball by Underworld, simply for the definitive Rez\Cowgirl mix. omffffffffg.

oh, and more amused by The Lonely Island album than i expected to be.

I saw Buried Inside a number of years ago with Khanate. Fucking hated them. I've never heard their recordings though, so maybe they just had an off night.

Jedi Mind Tricks older stuff was decent.

Had the privelege of being put on Coliseum's guest list the other night for the Napalm Death, Coliseum, Trap Them, The Haunted, The Agonist, and Merauder show. It was a fucking amazing show.

the newer stuff is just as good, just different....they have had fairly major changes on each album they have released....

first album was kinda spacey and abstract.....then they got a little more 'gangsta' with violent by design.....and its basically gotten more gangsta over the years

but i like that tbh.....they are still thought provoking and most tracks are loaded with political commentary and dissent, and they just ooze violence on every track.....i dig that.....

if you guys havent heard jak progresso you are missing out.....quite possibly the most original and jawdropping MC i have ever heard....gotta have an open mind tho...he raps about serial killing and shit....in the first person....but his lyrics are mind blowingly complex and really nice understated beats that really suit his style

Servants in Heaven, Kings in Hell was a solid album by JMT - Uncommon Valor and Shadow Business were two awesome tracks. Is the new one, A History of Violence up to the same standard?

I've been in a bit of a musical rut lately. About the only thing that has received consistent serious playtime from me recently has been Black Moth Super Rainbow - Eating Us.
