DUX for Dreamcast
May i ask what this issue is? This is kinda interesting ^^RHE wrote:It's not hard to give a rough estimation, it's hard to give an exact release date. Rough estimation is within March, 2009. So, the game itself is finished to 99,9 percent but we have a small programm issue which is yet to be solved. This issue may be solved within a few days ot it takes slightly longer.Purple_Aki wrote:Why is it so hard to give a rough estimate of the release date when the game is apparently close to completion?
The game has a issue with the Dreamcast which seems to be a bug, perhaps it has something to do with 2D capabilities of the console - DUX almost takes them to the limits. But the problem is, that we don't know yet what the exact problem is. Shouldn't take long to solve it though.
Maybe the game refuses to have that problem PS2, so there's hope.

Why not just get the DC to do something else for the bit that doesn't work? Surely the whole game isn't built around a problem that cannot be rectified?
I find it hard to believe the DC is being pushed with those graphics. Unless there is something i'm not seeing. It looks very bold and lacks much animation and its hardly a sprite mover. Maybe the graphics chip runs like a color printer and it runs out of green before the game ends?

This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

Actually all this repeated changing-of-release-date-at-the-last-minute stuff has started to feel a bit exciting now.
It will be awesome just to get Dux in the post now, whereas if it had stuck to it's original releasedate it might be a bit dull...

It does raises the level of expectation, doesn't it!?mjclark wrote: Actually all this repeated changing-of-release-date-at-the-last-minute stuff has started to feel a bit exciting now.

But being a fan of Last Hope (yes there are a handful of those around!) and totally loving the OST of this game I received already, I have good hopes.
Let's hope they get this issue ironed out asap.

imagine if you in your profession had to tell your clients.....'sorry there will be a delay'...how may clients would you have...? unfortunatley. we are so hungry for a new shmup that we can be dissapointed ad nauseum...and them get the game and probably rip it to shreds critically...just venting at the postponments....
it isn't XERO unless it starts with an "X"...

We wouldn't even be having this discussion had he not been so open about the game so soon, and allowed pre-orders. It's not the delay that's uncommon, it's the marketing. Once again, as said before, this isn't a professional game.lilmanjs wrote:in the video game industry, delays are common and its great when a video game is delayed because of quality issues.
BUT I'm excited as hell!!!
