The parents will not be bothered with facing their part of the responsibility.

I don't really get the argument that "tight regulation" can be improperly applied. Either the regulation isn't tight after all, or there's a funding gap (which again precludes "tight regulation"). I get your point about overly restricting people who don't seem to pose a risk, but it seems somewhat irrelevant when even conscientious gun owners are essentially trying to secure a miniature arsenal. I agree that restricting media and things that are at worst just normal societal factors isn't helping.

Tight regulation means a 17 years old is not supposed to have access to any firearms, if they are not locked away at home in a way that he can't overcome the parents commit a crime.
Some changes to the law that come to mind and are not overly unrealistic could be: forbid the holding of large ammounts of ammunition (if I heard correctly he was carrying hundreds of rounds, why would anyone have this much ammunition at home?!) or higher penalties for not preventing minors access to guns.
Not that i think it would change anything...

The "friends" that were interviewed talked about how he played Killerspiele (killer games) all the time. A word that no youth in their right mind would use but they seem to be conditioned by the media to say what is expected of them to say.

I heard the parents might be charged with 10.000€ which would be pretty much nothing in my opinion.
But only if the weapons were not locked away properly, as far as I know if he stole the keys or something (which should be easy in a normal family) the parents will not be found guilty.

But don't misunderstand me, I don't want his parents suffer anymore than they already do.
I don't think a harsher penalty would do much since it's a law that only takes action after something went wrong (you can't go to people's homes and look how they store their weapons) and I doubt the deterrence effect would be enough since most people trust their kids (I consider that a good thing).

I'm not kidding sadly, people just called up blaming games and metal even though neither of those things had been mentioned in any of the reports featured in the show, including a segment from a school shooting expert in the USA who made absolutely no mention of cultural influence. The people who ring these kinds of radio shows don't know anything about games of course, and probably have no idea about existing videogame classification and age rating schemes.
