Boardmaster CP

Post by Steve »

I'm looking to replace my boardmaster CP from the standard 6 button to a dedicated 4 button.
Its only a cosmetic change but I only play 3 and 4 button Cave games.

I was looking to get an Astro 4 button CP (would match the boardmasters white case).

There seems to be (2) different 4 button CP's -

They are both the NeoGeo or SNK button arrangements but one style has button 1 slightly below the stick and the the other 3 buttons in a striaght row (in line with the stick).
The second type has the 4 buttons in a curve (starting at stick level and curving up).

I want the second type but how is it designated ?
Has one type been discontinued or is it pot luck ?

Any advice would be appreciated, Steve.

I don't think I've seen a native 4 button panel in the configuration you described. Normally its a 6 button panel with two plastic plugs covering the lower right two holes.

There are 3 different 2L8B CP's that I have seen (each with slightly different button placements).
There are the 2 in my first post and one that is as you describe (but without the plastic plugs - that would be a 2L12B panel with plugs).

I don't know how the different layouts are identified but I've now found the one I want.

I might be wrong but I think only Seimitsu manufactured the straight layout.
