709,780 - Stage 3 - MAME - defaults

I'll try again tomorrow.

Seems like you gotta be pretty aggressive to get the medals at the right time in this game to score big. I love the voiceover in the intro!

Ed Oscuro - 604,260 - Stage 3
MAME, defaults

Bombed my way through the second boss, and died at the first big plane in Stage 3

Astonishingly, I can now do the first boss with relative ease. Cool game, gotta work on the second boss's pattern.

Ed Oscuro - 1,091,200 - Stage 3
MAME, defaults

Bombed through the second boss again, died at the big stealth bomber near the end of the third stage in a stupid way. Good run though!

On the first stage, I got 88% 2000 points medals, and 2 medals each @ 1000 and 5000 points. That gave up a first stage score of 389,020 points. Second stage, only 73% 2000 point medals.

It's kinda funny because I was sitting here swearing for an hour and a half at the game, not even approaching my 600K score and suddenly I blow it away.

Really fun game. That S power up really sucks.
I did great so much water and milk that I threw up when I was little.

You can delete entry 50. Limbrooke and add my new score.

RFP - 1'342'210 - 3

I'd like to punch the mofo who wrote on wikipedia that this game has a small hit-box.

Indeed, it's very weak but against St2 boss it's invaluable.

Games with hitbox this big should be banned by international laws

Image

Ltc - 1'642'010 - 4

First time past stage 3 boss and start and mid part of stage 4 was easy. Then I got totally demolished by the later stage.

Also, that S power up (Hunter or whatever) isn't that bad... BUT it manages to screw up my every run. I don't use autofire so that's not the problem, the thing is that my brain capacity can't handle both targeting AND dodging and I always end up getting hit in 10 seconds after getting it :(

EDIT: Could someone explain how does the 'perfect' 100k bonus work? I find it rather annoying I don't get it from time to time even though I had 0% miss from points. If it weren't for that it would've been straight 200k more for this run

Thank goodness The Hague thinks little of this issue compared to genocide and the like eh.

At least the Eagle and Hornet's hit-box is smaller than the one on the enemies. It's little frustrating experiencing death perhaps due to the default ship speed compared to oncoming traffic.

The only thing more likely to kill you in this game besides the supposedly oversized hitbox is the rank increase from a no-miss play.

I believe it has to do without bombing at least that what I've noticed.

Hey CIT, don't forget Dale's score.
I think it's actually that the game doesn't register the points that you don't discover when it counts the points, it still notices you didn't get it and doesn't give you the 100k bonus. As far as I know you can bomb and die as much as you like.

Here's a little better run. Almost making it to the fourth boss with 2 bombs used and no deaths makes me feel more confident about 1cc'ing this eventually.
The second boss is ridiculously easy if you just stay in the right corner and move up and down and if you use the safespot during third boss you only have to dodge one easy wave from the boss.

Correct.

Though 'points' would be more accurately described as 'medals'.

input file (MAMEUIFX 32 .129u3):
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?yziuyuymky2

First death 5th boss, second death 5th boss, third death 6th boss first phase.

EDIT:
I recorded and uploaded the videos to my youtube account from the run:
Stage 1,2&3
Stage 4&5
Stage 6

Personally I'm done with this game but I hope the vids can help people who get started with the game. Safespots for the third boss make the boss really easy. There's also safespot in stage 5 when the F-117s come in around halfway of the stage.
Also, I noticed you do considerably more damage when you shoot the enemies closer and it really helps against the bosses. In my opinion the green bomb is a lot better excluding the final boss where it's needed to kill off the final phase of the boss.

As they pronounce "Gallet" as "Garret" I assume they are talking about Ms. Garret from the Facts of Life and maybe you are on a crazy mission to destroy her or rescue her. One of the two, I'm not sure which, though.
