Metal Slug (GBA) video out
It seems to be shaping up nicely. I won't mind the scaled down graphics if they keep the game going at a smooth frame rate.

After looking at the 3 screen-shots of actual play... it appears that the backgrounds look very faithful (for instance, I noticed the direction signs in stage 2 were present [which only appear in the MVS and AES cart versions])... however, the character sprites look.. well... cel-shaded.. sort of. They don't have the traditional gritty detail look (even MSA possessed said graphic style) to them... but instead, sport some really odd varying thickness/colour outlines as well as what almost look like smeared graphics (especially on the faces... look at the stage 3 image of Marco balancing on the edge of the cliff).
It also appears that SNK-P have yet to confirm the inclusion of a 2-player option.

Yeah, the resloution of those screens doesn't look like GBA. Definatly check out the video. It's very impressive IMO.Kiken wrote:Good point. That could very well be the case.iatneH wrote:Kiken, I think those are AES/MVS screenshots run through some kind of a filter. I don't think gamespot has actual screenshots of the GBA version yet.

Haha, those are screenshots of Metal Slug emulated with edge enhancement. Those GameSpot guys are so clever.Kiken wrote:After looking at the 3 screen-shots of actual play... it appears that the backgrounds look very faithful (for instance, I noticed the direction signs in stage 2 were present [which only appear in the MVS and AES cart versions])... however, the character sprites look.. well... cel-shaded.. sort of. I tried a few imports on my GB Player and they all work great. In fact, I even used it to test and confirm the single cartridge multiplayer in the Famicom Mini Twinbee.Capt.
