NO LEFT CLICKER? WAY TO GO MAC. WAY TO FAIL THE ESSENTIALS.
Not only are you wrong about them not having two buttons, you also don't know your left from your right.

My guess is, most people with that attitude have never used a Mac. Which makes me think of an essay I read ages ago...

"Users of Windows computers are often confused at the loyalty Mac users show their computers, and now I see why. After all, if my only experience of computing was with a temperamental, unpredictable, and eccentric machine like a Windows PC, I wouldn't feel any affection or respect for it, either. And I may very well assume (incorrectly) that Macintosh computers were just as unreliable or irritating, and then wonder why those Mac users were so faithful." -- Robert A. Jung
A Windows machine (XP) not made out of garbage and operated by a moderately knowledgable person is not tempermental, unpredictable, or eccentric, and I find it a hell of a lot more usable and capable than any Mac I've used. Less bloated, more software, more hardware, less expensive.

different != better

edit: I don't even know why I'm posting about this, I honestly don't care at all

Well, that was back in the Win95 age. They ironed out some quirks, sure. But, interface-wise, Windows is still far from a Mac. And Vista actually made things worse than XP.

Strange, I've found Vista to be the most compatible and least glitchy version of Windows I've ever used. No problems at ALL. Ever. All my old software works perfectly, no crashes, no blue screens, no issues of any kind. I don't know what people have against it.

lol Macs, they er just work, right?
And that's incredibly stupid, because you can download the iWork trial straight from Apple and simply enter a serial. :P

(suggested similar apps at no cost: Bean, TextWrangler, NeoOffice)

Maybe people taking japanese classes have a high douchebag ratio, I don´t know

Seriously, I know there are a lot of Apple fanboys who are very smug about their "lifestyle", but the products shouldn´t be confused with annoying people using it. It´s certainly true that in some circles Apple products, and especially Macbook Pros (since everybody already seems to own an iPod, so you need something REALLY expensive to set yourself apart) are a status symbol and I agree that especially the iPod got a lot more hype than it actually deserves.

Still, I find Mac OS X and the hardware its running on very comfortable to use. I think the companies image is split between their hipster-targeted lifestyle products and the actually useful computers. I will never understand why people would shell out cash for a laptop that doesn´t even have a disc drive just so that it can be as thin as a cracker, but the iMacs are wonderful machines. Of course that´s the benefit of having the operating system and the hardware configuration coming from the same company, and to me that´s worth paying a bigger price, especially when I know that I just need to turn to Apple if my machine acts up.

And yeah, the old right-click thing  To be honest, Apple mice in general are their weakest products, I just had a generic optical mouse for 5€ until I started using my Wacom Bamboo as a mouse replacement instead.

Just some weeks ago the german Axel Springer publisher (publishing all sorts of magazines and newspapers, including the rainbow press paper BILD) completely switched to Macs, which makes them the second biggest Apple-using company after Google and the biggest in Europe. Not that this indicates any trend or something, but that still is quite remarkable.

PC=What? Linux? BeOS? Windows 9x/2k/xp/Vista? Aros? Besides, no writing utility I have ever used on any computer/OS has ever gone "bleep bleep bleep".

You know what the difference between this and the other videos is? The others were funny.

The amiga is a pile of shit. If I were to see one in the streets I would first focus it (skateboard term) with my 100+ KG weight, then set it on fire.
The only thing the amiga ever did right was music, for the rest it was just destined to die. It actually held on very long. Even the NES beats the amiga with quality of games, the NES!

It might be coincidence but ppl who have Apple products tend to be the worst in my Japanese classes. Usually show offs who fall flat in their faces and show off their phone on the freakin' desk despite not getting any signal in the classrooms.

I guess everybody has seen this already:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7L2fsubA2-c
It´s not that clever or even funny as other Apple parodies, but the earbuds part is spot-on. I wonder how many people actually do this in real life.

But even that is going to be expensive now:
http://www.apple.com/ipod/inearheadphones/
$79? Ouch.

Again, I love their computers, but couldn´t care less about their other products. I just wish they would just go ahead and finally update their desktop line :x

And finally, a G4 Cube fish tank.

I understand people have their preferences, but I never realized so many people actually had a hatred of Apple's computers.

Personally, I've been happy with their stuff. Especially the laptops.

Whenever something gets (too) popular, the hater community starts growing.
True or false, comments will be there.

For it's own sake, Apple has become too mainstream to be uncriticized.

I think the anti-Apple ranting is kinda funny. :)

I have a G3 I've upgraded several times. Still kicking, still fast, still awesome. And blue. Blue!

Can't say that for any Wintel machine I've had (gone through three in 5 years.) I baby my stuff.

I have no loyalty to Apple as a company. I don't like the culture surrounding it. I was a huge fanboy in the G3 days (1998-2002) but I wish they had never made the iPod. That seemed to be the point at which stuff got snooty instead of just cutting-edge style and tech.

But in my experience, the products are solid, the OS is fast, and they get the job done for me better than my Wintel, which I use for gaming (I'm a designer.) I don't really see what's so bad about that. Must be personal taste. :D

P.S. Before you call me a hypocrite, my avatar is from Persona 4, not an iPod commerical. :D

From a retrospective point of view I agree. At the time everything looked so glossy and detailed. However, it didn't hold as much passion for me as the C64. For me, those games looked like shit but they played much better.

I still wouldn't mind playing the Blues Brothers again.

Man, that kozo REALLY is a hypocrite!
Just look at his avatar there and read his post...

 j/k of course.

A lot of people seem to dislike Apple since the iPod and change to "intel" macs.
Why?
Mostly, a sense of lost exclusivity!
Getting more mainstream seems to come at some price for former "hardcore" brands and companies.

Good point, but I don't buy Macs to be edgy or whatever. I just like how mine works. :)

I should say I enjoy my Windows machines too, and I appreciate Windows for different reasons. I'm not really on one side or another; they both have their purposes in my use.

There are some Mac repair shops that charge upwards of $100.00+ per hour to fix your ailing Mac. And that ain't chump change there, folks. ^_~
