Game Companies That Have Fallen From Grace
Yeah, I'm still waiting for a spiritual sequel for Shining Force. Golden Sun doesn't count, and SEGA's GBA remake was a crime against humanity.
Landstalker PSP remake was canceled.
I don't mind in the sense that remakes are really getting old - yes I really like some of these games but damn it I already played the hell out of them the first time. I'm not sure what the quality is of Final Fantasy: The After, but it'd be really nice to get more options like Mega Man 9 out there. Or a good Landstalker sequel.
Look at what they did to Final Fantasy 1 through the generations of remakes: they piled on more and more gloss, while at the same time carving its heart out from its chest. It's cold, steel heart that hates you and everything you like.

Yes. The only "proper" remake is the PSX version imo. That said, I will admit that these remakes got me back into playing older Final Fantasies.BryanM wrote:Look at what they did to Final Fantasy 1 through the generations of remakes: they piled on more and more gloss, while at the same time carving its heart out from its chest. After hearing that Dave K. mentioned the famous Jaleco shutting it's doors for good, it was Jaleco USA that handled the USA distribution rights of Psikyo's Gunbird PCB kit stateside back in May of 1995. I've got a full-sized USA Gunbird marquee with the Jaleco name + a USA region Gunbird PCB with May 1995 revision stickers placed on some roms to back up those two important & relevant facts concerning the USA region GB PCB. ^_~
Still makes me wonder what American arcade distributor handled the later Psikyo PCB kits of Strikers 1945 II, Strikers 1945 III and Gunbird 2? Hmmm, could Psikyo have set up a USA distribution house for the later PCB kit releases?
PC Engine Fan X! ^_~
