Oh, shoot...I lost stinking count. McDonalds (specifically their McCafe coffee products), LG, tons of others. Actually, watching for product placement might have been the most entertaining part of the movie.worstplayer wrote:I'm surprised nobody commented on LG product placement. It didn't even try to be subtle. One shot even consisted of nothing but LG cellphone showing big LG logo. I guess it isn't anything abnormal in today's movies, but that doesn't make it OK.
Save your money: "The Day The Earth Stood Still"

It is not really new, you just don't notice it in old movies because the products are not longer relevantworstplayer wrote:I'm surprised nobody commented on LG product placement. Mr. Cleese has had a terrible divorce lately, and it's his lot in life to spend his silver years working to pay off the debt. Be that fortunate or unfortunate, he's signalled it's not what he'd prefer to do but it does pay the bills. The Week had a pretty good short on this; unfortunately, I don't have it at hand, so here's this instead, which as a bonus has fun trivia and lots of pictures of Mr. Cleese looking red as a boiled beet.boagman wrote:To John Cleese: Why, John? Why are you letting your talent be completely, totally, utterly, and in all other ways absolutely wasted in a movie like this?
I agree wholeheartedly.Herr Schatten wrote:I do think this would make an awesome movie.dave4shmups wrote:there are aliens that say, "Duuuuude!!", "Whooooaa!", or "I'm gonna jump the UFO!".
Guys stop paying attention to these kinds of things and they'll go away >_<
Look at what we have to look forward to:
* Smurfs. Live action + cgi.
* Masters of the Universe. Could be a pretty awesome R rated movie with many slaughterbaths, but won't be.
* More horrible horrors I've since blocked out.

Here's a thought: Red Sonja starring Sable.
