under defeat world record

Post by lilmanjs »

what the heck is the world record for this game? and what are the settings you have to play the game at to get your score to be a world record. I'm thinking of trying to get the world record.

7.3 million was the last update I had seen for the UD world record.

This was done at Normal difficulty, 1st loop start.

Here's a good place to check for updates: http://cowboy.ikaruga.co.uk/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=147

As for Under Defeat as Valgar's site suggests it's 7 421 580.

It´s not that trying to score as high as possible isn´t a very noble intention, but just be prepared that world records are usually A LOT higher than what most players ever can achieve. Yes, we have a couple of very skilled players here, but the japanese top players are just in a league of their own.

Saying that you´re thinking of trying to get the world record sounds a like you don´t really know the effort and dedication it takes to achieve something like this. I sounds like saying "I´m kinda bored today so I thought why not make a top-ten record on Garageband. Does anybody have the email adress of Sony BMG?"

Tviks maybe? I know DEL and mills both have counter stop scores that are WR's, but they are not the only guys to have maxed those games.

oh please, if I posted the score I have on my viper phase 1 machine you'd all say I've just taken the high score of somebody else. I really do work hard to master games I own. after under defeat is master I think I will master something else. don't doubt the passion I have for getting my first world record. if it can be done I will prove it.

Yeah, not sure about Tviks. Maxmultiplier probably the WR for the Gamecube arrange mode of Radirgy (hard to tell since Arcadia doesn't track these scores), but that was never released in the arcades. I don't think anyone else here (again, maybe Tviks is an exception) has a WR for a shmup released in the arcades. But raise your hand if you do.

Counterstops, while a great acheivement, aren't necessarily WRs. Only the first person to get a counterstop has the WR.

it's a higher score than the DVD and any other scores on the radirgy website, so why wouldn't it be a world record? or do you discount it because it's not printed in arcadia? and their idea of counterstops, when the counter hasn't stopped, is, well...

while not a shmup by strict definition, BBH is the man at shock troopers 8)

I do wonder what the highest recorded score on Sheinryu Explosion is.

I have no idea what is going on this thread either

Has anyone actually played Shienryu Explosion long enough to attempt a WR?

Post a pic of the high score displayed on the monitor. I'm curious to see what it is myself :)

I have like the 5th highest Vulgus score and the 2nd Highest Astro Invader score according to the Mame Action Replay page. I have a real good shot at the Radical Radial world record only about 60,000 away from the current holder, I'm not going for it until I know how to create the Mame replay video's though.

Edit: Some chap's on here hold the Shock Trooper's WR but thats not a shmup.
I did great so much water and milk that I threw up when I was little.

There is a possibility that not everyone who scores well in Radirgy submits their scores to the radirgy website. Hence my use of "probably" in my previous post.
Arcadia does make things more definitive (though there are some Chinese scores that beat Japanese ones, and you'd never know that from Arcadia), but obviously wouldn't apply in this case since it's not an arcade game, it's a console arrange mode.
