I don't want to de-rail this thread, but I don't see, with a recession, what retailers expect to gain by opening so early. I worked Black Friday at GameStop last year, and, of course they didn't have an extra register (which my boss has, like more hours for his store, requested), so I was mainly walking around asking people if they needed help.

And no one mentioned the Egg Nog (with Nutmeg!) and the cheeseball!

Honestly if you ask me there isn't anything all that great on sale this black friday (at circuit city anyway and best buy). We're manning every register, opening a few extra ones, and every employee is working that day. I'm working 4am-10pm. Killer.

As I've said before, Thanksgiving food is mostly bland and reminds of baby food. But I am thankful for so much, even with this crappy cold, and don't care so much about the food.

Perhaps it will cheer you up to realize that we are not in a recession and haven't been for some time. The economy is growing very slowly, but it is growing. This is not a recession. Indeed, the latest economic news for the US has been really good.

I lucked out with black Friday, I work the graveyard shift at a toy store so it won't be that bad by the time I roll in. Only difference is we have to wear black pants and there's pizza at some point.
