Happy Thanksgiving =D

I'm thankful for my blazing metabolism; I can eat as much as I can possibly stomach, at all times ^_- Lucky us, having all that food.

Where at? I really hope that tomorrow goes well for you! :D I don't want to de-rail this thread, but I don't see, with a recession, what retailers expect to gain by opening so early. I worked Black Friday at GameStop last year, and, of course they didn't have an extra register (which my boss has, like more hours for his store, requested), so I was mainly walking around asking people if they needed help.

And no one mentioned the Egg Nog (with Nutmeg!) and the cheeseball!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

I've been constipated for some time now and hope that this oncoming large meal will push me through and unbind me a bit.

More people will be looking for deals, that's for sure.
Egg Nog (with Nutmeg!)
Whenever I hear this from now on, I'm forced to recall that song from the Colbert Christmas Special.

I've been working as a seasonal employee at circuit city for the past few weeks. Honestly if you ask me there isn't anything all that great on sale this black friday (at circuit city anyway and best buy). We're manning every register, opening a few extra ones, and every employee is working that day. I'm working 4am-10pm. Killer.

A thanksgiving prayer
by William S. Burroughs.

Thanks for the wild turkey and
the passenger pigeons, destined
to be shit out through wholesome
American guts.

Thanks for a continent to despoil
and poison.

Thanks for Indians to provide a
modicum of challenge and
danger.

Thanks for vast herds of bison to
kill and skin leaving the
carcasses to rot.

Thanks for bounties on wolves
and coyotes.

Thanks for the American dream,
To vulgarize and to falsify until
the bare lies shine through.

Thanks for the KKK.

For nigger-killin' lawmen,
feelin' their notches.

For decent church-goin' women,
with their mean, pinched, bitter,
evil faces.

Thanks for "Kill a Queer for
Christ" stickers.

Thanks for laboratory AIDS.

Thanks for Prohibition and the
war against drugs.

Thanks for a country where
nobody's allowed to mind their
own business.

Thanks for a nation of finks.

Yes, thanks for all the
memories-- all right let's see
your arms!

You always were a headache and
you always were a bore.

Thanks for the last and greatest
betrayal of the last and greatest
of human dreams.

Same here, except we got our two coupons for DTV converter boxes, but I'm not going out to get the converters until next week.

As I've said before, Thanksgiving food is mostly bland and reminds of baby food. But I am thankful for so much, even with this crappy cold, and don't care so much about the food.

Perhaps it will cheer you up to realize that we are not in a recession and haven't been for some time. The economy is growing very slowly, but it is growing. This is not a recession. Indeed, the latest economic news for the US has been really good.

Ha, or maybe a gentle reminder that it's a *new* Thanksgiving. We give thanks anew, and might do so with a new thread next time. :)

Heh, same here. Next update in 36 minutes!

I lucked out with black Friday, I work the graveyard shift at a toy store so it won't be that bad by the time I roll in. Only difference is we have to wear black pants and there's pizza at some point.

Anyway, everyone stay safe and enjoy the food.
