On the Anime News Network website, there is a column called The X Button, and the first installment of the column has a rather lengthy review of Castle of Shikigami III and also has a piece on Macross Scrambled Valkyrie. In a couple of later installments Thunder Force VI is mentioned and in the newest one there is a piece on the Sailor Moon arcade game by Gazelle, with a note mentioning Air Gallet and Toaplan as well. The forum discussion thread had the author of the column posting, mentioning Batsugun and several other Toaplan games. I think it's kind of cool that they picked someone like that for their video game column!

I tried to rip up my monitor as if it was a glossy magazine, but it just made creaking noises so I stopped.

This looks like a different reviewer, though, since croikle's link shows he just started a few months ago. His picture of Kefka has alt text from IT, so he gets my seal of approval.
