Doom mode was disappointing. I almost beat him on my first try (managed to on my third) and even the first time, I didn't lose a life or use a bomb until his last form. I was wrong about Doom from watching the videos a couple years back; Doom is no Hibachi, he's no Aki, and hell, even Jakou put up a hell of a fight in comparison.adversity1 wrote:I'm waiting to see the death label and doom mode scores of all you haters lol

Yes, my justified retaliation is a bad thing, but the comment which sparked it-- an implication that I don't pay good money for things I truly appreciate-- is a fair one. Why not.moonblood wrote:LovelyZweihander wrote:some cunts
Keep in mind I just got Radiant Silvergun for $175, I have two games pre-ordered (Thunder Force 6 and Metal Slug 7), and enough money laying around to buy at least two of the three "current-gen" systems; Quite simply, Ketsui: Demo Label is a shmup that I can live without. I don't pay for half-games.
Would have been much better as a Wiiware title. At least then, it would be among fellow half-games, minigame collections, and shovelware; it would fit right in.

Having played it, and found it enjoyable in a "$10 downloadable XBLA/PSN game" sort of way, I still stand by every statement I've made thus far.MX7 wrote:Hey, does anyone know what Zweihander thinks of this game?
Unless there's some unlockable content along the lines of THE REST OF THE GAME, lol.

The DOOM fight in the DS version is significantly slower in comparison to what he is in the original game. Watch a DOOM video right now and you'll see that this game suffers from Touhou syndrome. Truthfully all these years we've been subject to thinking DOOM was badass, but he's actually a loli with 3 spellcards. But I guess Mihara slowing the game down for DS users is a good thing, given the dpad at hand.Zweihander wrote:Doom mode was disappointing. Well, now he's told us, he doesn't need to tell us again, right? Because someone typing the same thing over and over would bore everyone to tears and completely destroy whatever argument he was trying to make, yeah?Jockel wrote:No, i sure don't.MX7 wrote:Hey, does anyone know what Zweihander thinks of this game?
Because it's not like he said anything about Ketsui DS in the past weeks at all.

Just like all the Cavefags stating this game deserves to be bought by anyone who calls themself a Cave fan, and hoping sensible buyers like me will go away?MX7 wrote:An 'argument' is not repeating the same statement over and over in the hope everyone will go away.

Who in here in particular is saying this game is 10/10 material, I don't see any Cave fanboys running around in this thread really... people may be sort of trying to justify the cost with the dvd argument but I think there's a consensus about the game itself. Even the people who are liking the game for what it is are conceding about the demo thing. Like yeah it's too expensive for what it is, but this is shmups forums, people spend hundreds on PCBs like it's no thing. And if they think it's shite they know they can just sell it back on the trading station in six months.
People are messing with you now because they know you'll get uppity about it and accuse them of off the wall shit, plus you're being a little condescending about the flash card thing. A lot of us have them but we don't flaunt it around.

You are a true idiot. If you ever beat that Doom you might discover that there are at least TWO after him, only one of which I've managed to beat yet. There may be another form I'm not sure.Zweihander wrote:Doom mode was disappointing. LOL @ you passing judgment on the weakest Doom form.
People are hella quick to declare on this game.
BTW, Death Label Mode has an upper limit of lives for it, I believe 20, since I am at 19 now and trying to beat Doom. So yeah, upper limits, score competitions are meaningful. Zweihander and Elixir, waiting for those scores.
Here's mine for now, try to catch up: 525,416,780

You seem to be forgetting that you're given 20 lives and can't change the amount. So no, scoring isn't meaningful at all. Also, tell me why I should play for scores with the DS Lite dpad? If I beat your score, does my opinion suddenly become more valid? You're not doing a very good job of justifying your purchase here.adversity1 wrote:BTW, Death Label Mode has an upper limit of lives for it, I believe 20, since I am at 19 now and trying to beat Doom. Those fuckin' cards! In the UK they postman pre-writes it, tiptoes up to your door, and hides. He watches you pace about as you look at your watch waiting for the post. Then, the second you give in and rush to the loo, he leaps out and rings your doorbell for 1/10th of a second before slipping the card through. You dash out, and he's already 100 yards down the road in his van cackling. You go to pick up your package at 6am, queue for an hour, and then somebody with no voice takes your card and shuffles of for 30 minutes before returning to you with no package and your card, which gets handed back with the word 'Sorry'...Frederik wrote:Ah yeah, great, nothing feels better than leaving the house for a quick trip to the supermarket on a long day of working at home and then find a little card saying "You can fetch your package with this card but not before the next working day" on a friday.MX7 wrote:I don't think my letter box will be able to take its fury, so I guess I'm going to have to hang around the house for an age waiting for the postman to knock

Ok, I caved and played it emulated (even though there's a chance the postman could come with the full thing any minute, lol). I decided to just play Doom Mode, since that's what I should be able to d/l from my Wii, but can't because it's a PAL system. And, baring in mind I'm squinting at my laptop monitor, and enjoying it so far. Only played 3 times, and can only get to the very end of loop 2. It seems to be very addictive, and definitely suited for short, sharp doses. The other levels intrigue me, but I'm going to wait for the actual game to arrive.
Oh, and I'm glad there's a key config feature. I found the standard setup to be very illogical. Maybe it'll work better with smaller face buttons.
Current score, for what it's worth: 66,999,205.
