I hear some good things about this President Gore guy. That he's kind of a nerd. I'm willing to make myself believe the actions he took on some environmental issues as not really his own beliefs; merely carrying out the policies of His Boss.

So it's been awhile now. When does he get to serve his first term?

Lots of "tolerance" in here, huh? I love being collectively called a racist for not voting Obama, even though I could give two shits about his skin color and instead concentrate on his ambititions. Note that only Obama is addressing the "race" issue, further dividing Americans into social classes and race groups in an attempt to pit brother against brother. Didn't this happen once already? Oh yeah it was the American Civil war, which was fought in part due to a COUGHrepublicanCOUGH freeing the slaves. We all know how far that got him.

Let's "spread the wealth"! It worked for the Romans and the USSR. We can just tax ourselves into prosperity.

Sure, be a whore with no responsiblility. We will just vacuum that shit out. But when I kick the bitch to excercise my "pro-choice" decision, it is aggravated assault and murder 1...

I just love to wait 12 years for surgery I needed 10 years ago. But hey, it was "free" :!:

And boy do I love paying twice as much for groceries now that all the corn for feeding me and the animals is fueling my tin ca- I mean green car. Let's raise those subsidies so that the farmers make even more money to produce one gallon of a fuel that takes one gallon of another to create.

I can't wait for the Unions to run the banks, either! I mean, they did so well with the auto industry, how could anything go wrong?

And fuck paying for food for the military, they are just going to drown in the quagmire anyway, right? They don't need medical supplies either, since the innocent civilians they killed aren't getting them, either.

I can't wait to get quoted. Good thing I am voting for Bob Barr.

Rome never gave wealth back to it's creators, it was all left to the senators (APPARACHIKS APPARACHIKS) and landlords. Sorta like Bob Barr's vision of America.

That's only about a quarter of it. The remaining 75% is the welfare of Joe the Plumber, who is clearly more important than Jesus.

Incidentally, it appears that a lot of Americans could use a lesson on how tax brackets work (PROTIP: you are not in one).

Has either candidate actually come out in support of ethanol? I've watched all but a few bits of the second debate and don't recall hearing ethanol. In fact, the closest I heard was Biodiesel, which isn't a real answer either, but still has nothing to do with ethanol.

Yet another link about the Al Smith dinner for those who don't have the time to watch the whole thing, has a few more awesome Obama comments not in the first link I posted:

http://www.reuters.com/article/newsOne/ ... nnel=10112

Al Smith was the Democratic Presidential nominee defeated in 1928 because of prejudice against his religion as a Catholic. JFK nearly suffered the same fate.

Um, what? Whose supporters are shouting racist epithets at rallies, without a hint of protest from the candidates in question? And which side is accusing the other, via talk radio, of secretly planning to wreak revenge on white people after winning the election?
Let's "spread the wealth"! It worked for the Romans and the USSR.
You can't seriously be comparing Obama's tax plan to the USSR...by the way, why is it only "class warfare" when something benefits the poor in any way, while skewing tax cuts and other perks to the rich is not? I'm not sure how that works...
Sure, be a whore with no responsiblility. We will just vacuum that shit out.
PLEASE tell me you're not referring to the "Obama wants it to be legal to kill newborns" smear...I'm not a particularly strong supporter of abortion rights, such as it is, but neither do I believe that outlawing it, alongside safe-sex programs and the like, is what's needed to solve the underlying problems that lead to it.

By the way, frankly, Republicans long ago used up any moral high ground they might have had in terms of berating the other side for their sexual deviancy. Unless you've been asleep the past decade or more.
I just love to wait 12 years for surgery I needed 10 years ago. But hey, it was "free"
Where do you get off on that implication? Everything I've read about so-called "socialized" health care in other countries not only mentions that it costs far less that our system does, but provides care that's at least as good, if not better, in most areas, and just as promptly. Source please?
And boy do I love paying twice as much for groceries now that all the corn for feeding me and the animals is fueling my tin ca- I mean green car.
We're already paying more for groceries thanks to the higher gas costs paid to transport them, not to mention the standard practice of purposefully destroying crops to keep food prices high.
Let's raise those subsidies so that the farmers make even more money to produce one gallon of a fuel that takes one gallon of another to create.
I'm not a big fan of ethanol myself, but considering that conservatives (and their oil-exec pals) have ignored calls to invest in R+D for far more promising alternative-energy sources (an in some cases actively killed them), they have only themselves to blame for the baby steps being taken in that direction. As I've said before, we should have been serious about energy back during the Carter years, but Saint Reagan assured us that it was all piffle. One more victory for the Gipper!
I can't wait for the Unions to run the banks, either! I mean, they did so well with the auto industry, how could anything go wrong?
You are aware that unions have been steadily losing influence for a long time now, right? Blaming them for Detroit's troubles is just as stupid as blaming housing initiatives for the economic downturn.
And fuck paying for food for the military, they are just going to drown in the quagmire anyway, right? They don't need medical supplies either, since the innocent civilians they killed aren't getting them, either.
Where do you get this garbage? Who's talking about cutting troop funding substantially (especially considering that a lot of the army's duties have been outsourced to Blackwater and other mercenary companies by now...about half, if I recall one estimate). By the way, you ARE aware that Bush, MCain, and the Pentagon all opposed the recent GI bill? So where's the outrage over how they all hate our troops?
I can't wait to get quoted.
I can't wait to quote people like yourself, even if it does get repetitive after awhile.

I know.. The stuff on the news is a bunch of bullshit; the main reason you should for Some Guy is what he says what he'll give you. That's the one and only issue. 90% of the election coverage should just be this chart sitting on the screen:

The states that can't find themselves on the chart don't need to be states.

Yeah, his ambitions are pretty scary. Rumor has it that he's seeking the most powerful executive office in the world.

Yeah, it only happened once before. Lincoln and the Union soldiers killed racism forever, so that nobody could ever do anything like disenfranchise black voters, enact segregation and anti-miscegenation laws, or generally treat black people like subhumans or criminals for no good reason. Nothing like that ever happened after 1865, and certainly not as late as, say, 1968. Obama is shamelessly resurrecting racism after over a century of blissful harmony, for nothing more than political advantage.
Super X Gamma wrote:Let's "spread the wealth"! It worked for the Romans and the USSR. We can just tax ourselves into prosperity.
Yeah, fuck the elderly and disabled; if they can't work they can't eat. While we're at it, let's get barely-regulated private companies in charge of infrastructure; it'll be a great day when our roads, water, and sewer are as reliable, affordable, and high-quality as our cable TV.
Super X Gamma wrote:Sure, be a whore with no responsiblility. We will just vacuum that shit out. But when I kick the bitch to excercise my "pro-choice" decision, it is aggravated assault and murder 1...
Yeah, let's define a zygote as a person so that women can experience the profoundly life-changing phenomenon of ectopic pregnancy without any murders taking place. That makes much more sense.
Super X Gamma wrote:I just love to wait 12 years for surgery I needed 10 years ago. But hey, it was "free" :!:
Yeah, our current system of rationing based on financial health is much better than one based on biological health.
Super X Gamma wrote:And boy do I love paying twice as much for groceries now that all the corn for feeding me and the animals is fueling my tin ca- I mean green car. Wow, what an insightful, novel, and unique perspective! It's not like people across the political spectrum have been saying this for years.
Super X Gamma wrote:I can't wait for the Unions to run the banks, either! I mean, they did so well with the auto industry, how could anything go wrong?
Yeah, the for-profit financial sector is much better. Having at least one economic crisis a generation builds character.

Aren't you confident in their ability to pull their own weight and use their God-given gifts and hard-won freedoms to make money and buy their own food and medicine?
