you're right. dug it out to confirm. Aube is pretty hit or miss for me, but that one was definitely a hit.

I found this absolutely awesome video of one of my house-mate's acquaintances performing with Junko Hiroshige of Hijokaidan fame. This would seem to be as good a place as any to shove it

I am not unto Jap noise, but Government Alpha is pretty good. I am not really unto any of the other groups though such as Incapacitants, Hijokaiden, Merzbow etc... Though the "partikel" splits with Nordvarg was pretty good.

Meh, optron isn't really that creative. It's not even an instrument as much as it is a glorified light show coming together with a somewhat poorly composed noise. I find stuff like this more impressive because it actually creates something you weren't expecting to see nor hear (which can't be said about Ito's stuff), and there's a composition that has drive and development to follow.

Then again, Ryoji Ikeda. That guy is the shit.

I've seen his and Alva Noto's collaborative project "Cyclo." live in a concert hall. Best fucking show of my life, hands down! It's just like watching the legendary Gantz Graf being created in realtime on a big screen in front of your eyes for about an hour straight. Unforgettable experience.

To be honest, I think I prefer Ikeda's visuals to Rutterford's. I find the video to Gantz Graf to be a little too clean. Which is fair enough, as the track in question is actually very clean and precise. It still must stand as perhaps the perfect visual representation of a song ever created.
