I have updated the hardware page with the current findings.

http://www.world-of-arcades.net/Cave/Ha ... rdware.htm

It looks like pin 11 on one of the 29DL321 goes to a resistor, i.e.
a pullup. This indicates that write is disabled.

I need to build a portable mini supergun and verify this.

Anyone else have an Ibara BL with FLASH chips which look
resoldered ?

Measured it just now, 3.2V i.e. it's high. This leads me to believe that
write enable is disabled and then again that these chips need to be
pre programmed.

Another issue which supports this is that on all SH-3 PCB's I have seen
the FLASH chips are labeled such that it is possible to distinguish between
U23 & U24.

On your page you mentioned that it would be possible to convert e.g. an Ibara to a Mushihimesama. How much would that cost, and who would i have to contact?

The only people who can do that are CAVE!

On the page I am trying to describe how CAVE designed the hardware. In case the game flopped it could be easily converted to a new game.

In order to do that the entire board needs to be reprogrammed and the sound chips exchanged.

CAVE/AMI will never perform that task for the end user.

The only way to get a Mushihimesama is to buy one.

I bet that Cave/AMI would/could do such a reprogramming of said SH-3 PCB for a fellow employee -- it's one of those special perks that isn't available to the general public. Just make some phone calls and it's done just like that. Come to think of it, Cave could print up such valuable IPs such as the DDP-Special Campaign Version PCB at anytime for their valued employees (or least get access to them). I'm sure they're under "lock & key" for the time being until the next Cave public event to be dusted off and played with. ^_~
