Wow. It's funny when I can hop onto a forum community of elitists and take note of everyone favoring Ketsui's OST for some odd reason.orange wrote:the actual ostZweihander wrote:ketsui tops it for me but oh god the pink sweets ost is pure qualityWhich version of Ketsui's soundtrack did you hear? I downloaded the one from the actual game, and it just seemed like really forgettable techno that sort of works while you're playing the game, but not something I'd want to listen to in my spare time when I have ESPgaluda, Psyvariar, or GGXX music on my hard drive.
More stupidity from Ketsui DS -thread

When Ketsui for 360 comes out, I will import the game, and play it with the Street Fighter 4 arcade stick that I'll have by then. If the game isn't region-free (since 360's region-locking is per devs' choice), I'll mod my 360 with a $60 switch. All in all, I'll be spending less than $140 (between the game and the switch) to play this "holy ark of $800 awesome".Elixir wrote:If it helps your case any, I'd love to play Ketsui but having played Megaman 2 via emulation on my DS today, I'm not really looking forward to it. It feels awkward. I'm not really looking forward to playing it with a 360 controller, either.
Actually I think this makes me lose interest in Ketsui in general. I can't seem to find the PCB (when it was last on Yahoo Japan?) and everyone that does have it wants $1800 for a full kit. Or the bare boards get sniped within minutes.
Also, music doesn't make the game. Be more worried about how it plays.
Also, I never said Ketsui's gameplay wasn't sexy. Just saying the soundtrack didn't stick with me like DOJ or Galuda's.

that chip isn't region free. it just allows you to play backups.
edit. actually it says "Also Featured on this new chip is a USB connection for programming your On-board and Original Drive Flash with a USB 2.0 connection. This means you can have 2 Firmwares available and select which version you wish to use on startup"
dont know if that means you can have a jap firmware and a us firmware. it seems a bit ambiguous. if this allowed multiregion playback, you would think they would say it in black and white.

yeah, maybe my english is gettin rusty (i dont think so), but for what i could read, it only deals with the firmware of the DVD drive, not the cosole firmware, with that said, its not like you can turn your american 360 into a japanese 360 by just pushing a button.brokenhalo wrote:that chip isn't region free. it just allows you to play backups.

this part thou, its a lil ambiguous:
i kinda understand that it also deals with the console firmware, but like i said, its ambiguous... and sellers of this devices usually market their stuff in bold and capital letters, so you get lured into buying their stuff. something's fishy there.... or so i think. Also Featured on this new chip is a USB connection for programming your On-board and Original Drive Flash with a USB 2.0 connection. (ghegs, i hope links that DISCOURAGE modchip sales are ok by forum rules . . .)
To continue the goddamn derail; Zwei, I honestly wish you good luck if you end up going that route. While the instructions (...for the Infectus, at least) seem pretty clear, they have cemented my resolve to just purchase a JP 360 because the process looks like a huge PITA and I am lazy as fuck.
On-topic, it looks like Mihara et al. have put an incredible amount of work into this, and it looks really fun. The superplay DVD being included for only $10 more than a normal DS game is also very cool, even if I'm not the type who watches superplay DVDs.
...But the display seems a bit too cramped for me; I think it'd hurt my eyes after a while. And though I hear there are DSs out there with good d-pads, I'm constantly fighting mine. I think I'd get too frustrated with it to enjoy the game. Kinda like how Geometry Wars DS was hella fun, but hurt my hands.
