Looks like it'd be fun but it runs too fast on my PC. I can hardly get the cursor where I want in the menus. Then I die near-instantly.

Here are some screens from the first level. Gameplay is OK. Not bad for a free game.

The games actual homepage seems to be at http://www.cranehouse.jp/soft/parityshot/index.html . There is a newer version there (1.00) but it's labelled as a trial version. The earlier versions (also on the site) aren't labelled as "trial" and there doesn't seem to be a link to buy the game, so I wonder if that's a mistake of some kind.

  :D

This game has singe-handedly restored my faith in PC shmups. Seriously, Cotton with leeching, and a DDP-style shot? AWESOME!

How does one purchase the full version of this game? I don't have a Japanese text-translator on my PC, and I'd REALLY like to get this one! :D

Google can translate the site.

I don't see a way to purchase it -- I think it may be freeware.

There is a fix for this in the faq section of the site.

Thanks! :D

I don't think it's freeware-or if it is, then it's just a demo. Take a look around the game's site and you'll see a Windows CD-ROM of the game. THAT's what I'd like to purchase. I dunno if it would work on American Windows, though.

the game can be found in online stores... but i dont remember one at the moment. it was released in C65 if im not mistaken.

What do you mean by "released in C65"? What's that? :?

OK, I just shamelessly credit-fed this game through 4 stages-no ending.

So...there's only ONE more stage if you buy this game? :? Then what the heck's the point of a freeware demo like this! :?

Not too bad. I found it quite easy though: even when I switched to "Hard" mode, I managed to get through the 4 demo stages on the default 3 lives (in fact, I almost one-lifed them, save for a stupid death at the level 3 boss). And, of course, if I can clear it, so can a semi-trained chimpanzee. It's no Bike Banditz, but not bad.

yeah, the game its not hard, but BikeBanditz aint ez either (at least, levels 4 and up are anything but a walk in the park)....

C65 = Comic Market ver. 65 .... this was an event held in japan about 18 months ago... next Comiket will be number 68 (C68) and theres when ZUN's gonna release his latest touhou game (and music) installment...

I have a Korean version of this title on CD-ROM... I can't remember how much it was, though.
The Captain.
