SPI "Hardware Error 81"

Post by robivy64 »

Long story short:

I changed the game on a Seibu SPI board. During the reflashing it freezes.

I reboot and get "Hardware Error 81"

I'm pretty sure the motherboard is fucked since the flash data is corrupted, I just need confirmation :p.

Did you swith the JP071 jumper back ?

Anyway, If there was a freeze or if the power was shutted down during the countdown then yes, your mobo is most likely dead.

Swapping the game with or without the jumper shorted doesnt make any difference. It is the version 2.0 motherboard.

Also rtw, just reading up on your SPI board info page:

I can confirm that a 33 MHz 386 is not required to run Raiden Fighters Jet. I have updated a motherboard to Raiden Fighters Jet with no problems in the past. All SPI boards I have seen have 25 MHz processors on them (Intel 386 DX and AMD Am386DX).

I have a Raiden Fighters Jet 2000 board on the way so that should be interesting.

It's actually The Sheeps pages, but I have contributed :D

It's correct that there was a misunderstanding with the Raiden Fighters Jet that sort of stuck. Maybe you can PM The Sheep and ask him to remove this erroneous information ?
