Ikaruga Orchestral Soundtrack
Ikaruga Orchestral Soundtrack
I was browsing youtube for ikaruga vids and I came accross this one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwDsc_P_GF8
I love the orchestral arrangements of it and was wondering if the whole soundtrack was available anywhere.
I've searched this forum for info and I also googled it and have found nothing. Does anyone know if this available as i'd love to hear it all.
Cheers
Paul

There is a japanese website linked in the video description, http://mukyou.jp/ I can't read anything so I don't know if the music is on there or not though. It sounds great and I too would love to get the full orchestral soundtrack.
"I think Ikaruga is pretty tough. It is like a modern version of Galaga that some Japanese company made."
Doh, read through the whole of that youtube page and foundthe source. Looks like there's only that track and no others.
The source is here if anyone is interested:

Edit:Wow, there's some really cool stuff on this site.
There's a couple of Silvergun tracks and a TFV one 2, this guy/girl/peopl have some serious talent/time on their hands!!!

hahaha! Can't believe someone found one of my vids.
Yes, sadly, there is only one orchestral arrangement but you gotta hear Legendary Wings... Fucking epic.

Glad it keeps causing eargasms to the stg fans.
I also have a heavy metal version of Ideal courtesy of CarboHydroM.

You know, the guy (Aojiru) also helps with TAMusic and is a specialist in Touhou orchestral/solo piano arrangements. He surely makes those tunes sound extremely good.
He did a lot of interesting stuff, including a song from Nausicäa or Megaman.
Then people wonder why I ended up liking Touhou... With arrangements like that and this pianist doing Cave and old Sega tunes:
http://abab.dip.jp/pianolist/pianolist.cgi
I praised him for one of his original songs and he thanked and pointed me to chiptune versions he did for an old game called Winglancer. (the song in question is Winglancer Night, an amazing, slow, piano tune)
HUGE BATTLESHIP ERINIESU (stage 3 from Espgaluda) is featured as well. Along with some Touhou solo-piano, a pretty After Burner rendition and many many others, including classical ones like the Traumerei.
Check the Audiosurf playlist if ya want. I dropped some ZUN tunes and what I defined as 'bait' tunes (the IOSYS songs: I catch a lot of people with those and then they are directed to the real music).
I even fused the two versions of Segment 5 from HellSinker into one song to confirm they run and meld together into a single, new, richer song.

Re: Ikaruga Orchestral Soundtrack
Are there any flac versions of these? I have tried to check the site out, and can't make heads or tales of it. It seems to be down now.

Re: Ikaruga Orchestral Soundtrack
I remember a video with the OST of Ikaruga stage 1, remixed only with female voices, like a choir. I guess this was not a real choir but rather done with a computer but it was awesome nonetheless. Cannot find it now though, anyone heard it too ?

Re: Ikaruga Orchestral Soundtrack
I hereby allow myself to digress that my (over?)exposition to classical music in recent years, leaving aside all the awesomeness it gave me, had also left me somewhat oversensitive to such modern tech abuse. When the OST of Nier was praised to hell and back by those who would otherwise be my "natural allies" (as I liked a lot about the game), them fake orchestra & choir were a tad much for me to take without as much as a moan. As if it was not only the same voice (if not a vocaloid) singing all of the chord, but just a single recording of a particular phrase, then digitally tempered, multiplied, processed & sequenced ad nauseatum. Sure enough, the likes of Peter Hammill and David Bowie would produce "one voice studio choirs" such a long time ago as nineteen-seventies, BUT THOSE WERE STILL SEPARATE TAKES mixed together, they had to sing each and every voice themselves 'till it was done right.guigui wrote:I remember a video with the OST of Ikaruga stage 1, remixed only with female voices, like a choir.
