Oh, and my stereo receiver broke during the move. I'm not particularly happy right now.

I don't know, a box full video games well that's just too hard to pass up.CMoon wrote:I have my fingers crossed they'll find it. I can't do anything about broken things--but outright losing stuff is something they don't want to do. Also, as much as I hate to depend on human nature, if you get something delivered that isn't yours, I imagine you'd return it.
I wholeheartedly agree. I rarely, if ever, allow my family or friends to touch my prized possessions-- I'd never trust a stranger with them.Ed Oscuro wrote:suuure they "lost" them
dis is why you move the games and collectibles yourself
I don't trust my own family to touch my gaming stuff, why would I let some strangers throw them around a truck?

Well, it's better than nothing! If they're persistent in wanting to lose it they'll just keep it out of sight, though.CMoon wrote:Well the good news is that I have every box that was shipped here and each was numbered, so I can show which box they've lost and maybe pressure them a bit to actually find the thing.
your in one piece dude. you survived the move. You have that to be happy forCMoon wrote:Oh c'mon, you guys are bumming me out!![]()

Edit: Hey, may entire music collection (been collecting since about '89) survived in one piece!

That's horrible man. How hard will it be for your to replace it? How much was it worth?CMoon wrote:Holy shit! I'm not making this up. I've put in a call with them, wonder what the odds are they'll find it.

To be honest, I probably won't replace it. Well, some of the animation I will, but in general, if it is definitely gone (I'll have a better sense by Monday) then I guess that's it. I still love video games, but they've taken a lot lower priority of late, and most movies now you can get easily through netflix.evil_ash_xero wrote: That's horrible man. Well the insurance is a bit tricky, they would ask for proof of the contents' value when you file the claim.Domino wrote:I would pay the post office to ship most of the stuff (or UPS/Fedex). Tracking, and insurance. Sure the price might be higher than the movers but at least you can track your stuff.
Insurance company maybe go RARRRR FRAUD (theoretically you could set up a PayPal purchase with a frend 4 defauding on the value of a game, although they are backed up by market values; if you bought from lots of different sellers it's harder to claim that, but if you only buy from other people on shmups, well...)SAM wrote:Online purchase is another question, you could alway show them the PayPal payment records.
Well the insurance company would look into the date of the payment sent and the description of what the payment is for.Ed Oscuro wrote:Insurance company maybe go RARRRR FRAUD (theoretically you could set up a PayPal purchase with a frend 4 defauding on the value of a game, although they are backed up by market values; if you bought from lots of different sellers it's harder to claim that, but if you only buy from other people on shmups, well...)SAM wrote:Online purchase is another question, you could alway show them the PayPal payment records.
