You... are high.

I would say the creators of Shining Force, Sonic the Hedgehog, NiGHTS, Shenmue, Virtua Fighter, and Panzer Dragoon would be a little* bit higher on the list than the guy responsible for fucking Super Monkey Ball.

And by "a little" I mean a fucking lot.
Um.... no. To those who actually pay attention to the industry Toshihiro Nagoshi is more known for:

I reiterate:

Nothing you just posted a picture of should even be said in the same breath as classic Shining Force, classic Sonic the Hedgehog, Space Harrier, Outrun, Panzer Dragoon, Phantasy Star, etc.

For those that actually grew up playing Sega consoles, what you're trying to say is laughable.

Because we all know that a new game with no nostalgic biased attached to it could never be considered as good as games we played 10+ years ago.

Seriously why are some people so set in their ways? Why can't these games be considered as good? If he and many others thinks that their as good then there must be something too them, I've heard much love for those franchises throughout the internet(Not on Gamefaqs).

Strider77 pointed out some awesome recent Sega games but you would all rather talk about how bad the new Sonic games suck.

you are taking to much of a high ground there pal...

I grew up on sega. I got my grandma to buy me a master system b/c I saw the sega logo on it through the display glass at toys R us. I knew that logo b/c it was on games I liked in the arcade near my house (AB, OR, shinobi, altered beast ect).

I've been with them ever since. Now Yakuza is a personal taste thing and I'll let you have that but so is shen mue and the shining force games.

Now F-zero was a GREAT game. Looked fantastic and was tough as nails.

I guess it is either the nostalgia bug or something. Sega doesn't pump them out like the golden days but who does anymore. They have fallen from there old reputation but they can still most deffinately pump out a great game. I have gotten something from them each year or close to it that I enjoy.

now to each there own.. we all like different games and somethings aren't another cup of tea. Still to deny quality in game even though it doesn't fit your tastes is a very common trait on forums these days. I don't really enjoy JRPGs like i use to but I can clearly see what is good and not.

Sorry forgot outrun 2 and Fzero. I never owned an Xbox so that one sort of slipped by me. Fzero was good until the tracks became virtually memory tests just to stay on.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

VF 5 is an excellent game!

okay 4 had better training and practice facilities but 5 is still a very solid fighter and the top 3D fighter of this gen. Can't see why you wouldn't like it.......... :(

Yu Suzuki is great, but his work is also overrated. I may elaborate after the low blood-sugar.

F Zero GX, the Monkey Ballz, Outrun 2, and the latest VF's are better than any of the old Sega stuff.

Sega may be in a golden age actually

F Zero and the Monkey Balls are so fucking impossible though, and FZero has yet to be ported to a decent consoul

second that......

on sega's racers and any racer worth it's salt, track memorization is always needed or helps DRAMATICALLY near the last 25 percent.

Initial D has required alot of play on the higher up rivals for me. Repetition ect.

it is very much that...

If you listen to other people (IE, the ones that say it's anything like Shenmue) you probably won't like it.... since it plays nothing like Shenmue, has a moderate at best story, and drab characters. If you play it cold, it's probably not that bad of a game.

I thought it was a lot like shen mue... I means it's NOT a carbon copy but it's the closest to that kind of game I've encountered.

It's either this or nothing..... your never gonna see shen mue 3 unfortunately.

It's like Shenmue with a less annoying main character, more fighting and a smaller, less detailed area to explore.

this f-zero GX you guys are talking about.....thats the arcade one with the hydraulics, right?

didnt realize that was a sega title

cuz they had that at the arcade here, before it closed down recently.....

i remember i went in and saw it and was like what the fuck....a new game....everything in that place was medieval.....newest shit they had was third strike.....

awesome game..super fun.....highly recommend wearing the seatbelt......first time i played it i fell out....lolz

sega ftw!!

they should make a re-make of afterburner 2.....prolly one of my fav sega titles ever!!!

the new one seems to flashy for me

fuck.... just the amount of money i pumped into that one back in the day would justify it.....

WTF play as Booji Boy?

Scaler/psuedo-3D racing games are flip books. Twists and waves. Hot Rod makes up for lack of realism by being a good game and actually is more scenic. Better designed course with all kinds of crazy turns and shortcuts and hazards, nice power-system, 80s Sega music, ect..

As far as I'm concerned Sega has been in a slump since Flicky and Tricycle-san.

I have Outrun 2006 Coast2Coast on the PS2 and I consider it one of the best arcade racing game ever.

I've never played F-Zero GX, but I am a big fan of F-Zero X on the N64, and judging by the videos, GX looks to be AWESOME, just the kind of game I would love.
Sega doesn't pump them out like the golden days but who does anymore.
Konami ?
