^ Wrong thread?

Today I finished MM2 and am on my way to finishing MM3. I find every once and a while I can go back to these games, even if they aren't the most challenging platformers around.

Quick question - I have only played a little of MM5 & 6. Are they worth going through? It's hard to tell how good they are when I've just tinkered with them a bit...

I know I've beaten them both but I can't even remember what they are like. Looks like I need to go back and play them again myself.

Mega Man VI is underrated like crazy just because folks like to judge games so much on originality. I think it's the best of the NES games; it definitely looks the best and has the most features.

Mega Man V is pretty easy; the overall design doesn't feel as good as the other NES MM games. Still a great game in its own right though; just probably the weakest NES MM game besides MM1.

If this actually plays & feels anything like Mega Man 2 (Arguably the best in the series imo) and is released as real NES Cartridge, then I'll be definitely buying this one!

I doubt it’s worth buying a Wii just for this though...

However, I would rather see a new 2D Mega Man X9 on the SNES/ Saturn / PS-1/2 than this!

Very interesting news indeed!

It has already been confirmed it won't be.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

Gonna try MM6 next. Totally in a Megaman mood lately.

I think people have fond memories of it because it's so easy. I started playing through the series a short while ago, and 2 was a cakewalk after 1.

I still can't get over the fact that Mega Man 2 has the worst boss patterns of any Mega Man. Dr. Wily is pretty lame and the Clash Bomb boss is very poorly implemented.

Plus no sliding or charge, and the strategies that came with them.

It's like when people say Bare Knuckle 2 is best, even though it turns into a supreme act of patience to be able to walk one screen length after playing 3 but I played that one as a kid so it's the best.

I hate the Wily bomb puzzle in MM2, other than that yeah it's my favorite because it was the first one I ever saw and fell in love with and has the best music. I know I'm biased. But I think I've only bothered to do the bomb puzzle in one life once or twice.

How is "stump in white lingerie" related to Mega Man? It's listed as a related video, but I fail to see the connection.

Personally I felt the gameboy Megaman games were extremely good. especially GB MM4 and MM5. MM4 was just plain amazing to play and look at, and was balls hard compared to most megaman games. (the last few parts and the final boss kicked my ass so many times it's not even funny.)
GB MM5 is just plain perfect, and should be considered it's own game altogether because it took the approach to make totally new content aside from using the other GB MM's original bosses. (plus I liked how the stage bosses were very oldschool Super Robot in designs, especially Mars.) my only gripe that puts it below GB MM4 is it's stupid easy in comparison.

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that I've got a few really nice 18"x24" thick-stock posters of the Mega Man 9 box art (exactly what is shown in the quoted picture) if any of you are interested. I'm not looking to sell them, and would be glad to give them away to anyone who is interested, provided you cover the shipping costs, obviously. Let me know if you're interested.

Wow! That Dr Wily looks so sinister! He looks like a Strogg or Borg

I'll have to complete Mega Man 8 1st to figure out how he ended up looking like that!

I'm pretty sure Wily's zombie android ninja appearance is just a joke. Same with Mega Man's fucking generic space phaser piece. Simply a throwback to the times when console games were treated as mere children's toys, and cover artists were given almost no direction or information on the game or characters beyond maybe a small blurb. The most hilarious thing is that Western localizers often don't do much better.
