Rhythm Tengoku Gold

Post by Necronopticous »

This game is fantastic. I hope that, if you are not enjoying it already, you will be enjoying it shortly. You owe it to yourself to play this game.

If you are unfamiliar with Rhythm Tengoku, I recommend looking into the first game as well, provided you enjoy pleasure.

Anyone else playing?

it's really incredible. you can practically play it blind. and sometimes you should, since listening to the rhythm is essential. your eyes won't help, only confuse ^^
just like soundvoyager (GBA).

I just completed Remix 7.

The ping pong stages are definitely among the most difficult to master. What is your favorite stage so far? Mine has got to be the chemist beaker passing stage. There is something so special about that one.

Also, glad to see that you have experienced Soundvoyager. Those Bitgenerations games were really something.

Cleared everything, 31 medals, 10 perfects. I love the moai stages and jyuugyou (the manju popping one). The moai ones just sound nice, the jyuugyou stages are much more reflex-based than most of the others. Ping pong really isn't that hard once you figure out how to flick quickly in a way that registers every time.

My favourite Bit Generations game was Digidrive by far, though.
You should absolutely try it if you havent already. But you've got to be into puzzlers. My record was about 30k meter or something.
I dont know exactly, but it was easily enough to unlock everything ;D
Well i have not reached the "chemist beaker passing stage", since i hang at the first ping pong stage in the second set
but so far i absolutely loved the first tier, except that robot stage.
hehehe but you gotta love the chimps. ^^

I didn't like the Moai stage for some reason. Gradius flashbacks, perhaps.

Jockel, Digidrive was the best game in the series. I'm not sure what my "legit" record was on that game, but I played the Hell out of it, and I'm pretty sure it was fairly respectable. I stopped playing eventually because I discovered how much I could cheat by continuously pausing the game as I played. With this method I could essentially go on forever, pushing up with full circles with crazy multipliers.

Ok, now 11 perfects (or was it 12?) and 33 medals.... I think I've hit my limit, getting any more medals will take a lot more effort. The guitar lessons aren't as much fun as the drum lessons from the first game, but once you A rank all of them you get to play a little live show. Also, the demon slashing level from the first game is kind of back, as an endless level. Cooler than the first time, but the guy doesn't go all dark and badass.

I have been playing around with this but I liked the original one more. Why the touchscreen gimmicks? I just want to press A.

I'm normally irritated with DS sequels that force you to use the touchscreen for everything, but this was done so well that it doesn't bother me one bit.

For a touchscreen-only game its done very cleverly. I´m glad I didn´t have to trace crap on the screen or whatever, just use the screen as a big button (with slide). Though granted, this game could as well have been a button-only title, but the flicking part is actually pretty fun. The only downside is that the guitar lessons are a lot less fun than the drumming from the first title.

And yeah, it´s a very brilliant title, so far this is the one of best and most charming series I´ve ever played. Not only is are the game mechanics stimulating and challenging, but the whole art design and the music is top notch. These games really increase the quality of life :)

The design and presentation for Rhythm Tengoku Gold are absolutely fantastic.

I love this game. It sucks when I'm on the train and I realise that I've left my headphones at home though....
