Space Rogue, who has played it

Post by Ed Oscuro »

In before Space Rogue vs. Elite (which I also need to play) discussion, although that's fine too.

I was thinking about picking up some version or other of Space Rogue, just want to know if it's worthwhile.

I completed Space Rogue back in the olden days, and at least then it was seriously addictive and had some nice sci-fi ideas (I still want those contact lenses they describe in the game). But is it worthwhile now? I really don't know. All I know is that there (still!) aren't too many well-written "serious" sci-fi RPG's so you should give SR a chance.

Glad to see someone mention this!

I still need to play Starflight "seriously" - I have the Tandy (3D OMGZzzz, and actually have a CoCo3 so I should be able to play it) version of the original, and the PC version of the sequel. I've only played a bit of the Genesis version of Starflight 1 so far.

Elite gets all sorts of praise even today, but I've never tried that out either.

I don't know what Space Rogue is.

But Elite is awesome. I played countless hours on the MSX version. When I got an Amiga, I spent more countless hours on its version with (much) faster framerate :)
