Which is the best Guilty Gear?

Post by Skykid »

Thinking of getting Accent Core, but it's weird, cos on ebay the newer version of accent core (that would be AC Plus) which is meant to be updated with new story modes etc, is quite a bit cheaper than the older version.

There are so many versions, I'm perplexed as to which one to get.
Any help?

Almost new game. List of changes a really big. Tons of new features, 2 new chearacters (very cool), rebalnace, etc. New backgrounds (+you can unlock old), new effects.
A must buy for any 2d fans.

AC plus adds story mode, cool survival (rpg style), some new arts.

IIRC it also adds Kliff and Justice back in, though I doubt they matter much to "serious" players (unless they've been nerfed to heck and back).

If you get AC+ make sure you are getting the full version. I think they released two versions, one that could be used with AC and one that is AC and the update together.

Ah, that could be the reason the prices are so varied. Can anyone link me up tha box art to the proper, full AC +?

none of them are. IMO blue blaze is so much better than all of them (if you count that as a GG game)

Reload was the best. Its going downhill now, hopefully, Blaze Blue will be a good successor.

No Cliff or Justice in the AC games but the two additional characters and tweaks make up for it.

Blaze Blue does look very nice.

Yep.

Btw, about #R vs AC.
For me, #R balance are better (skip the poor Chip, and godlike eddie).
But AC have so much great tweaks and new moves. AWESOME D:

Btw, today i got GG#AC AE from p-a (11$ lol), and used my burned copy of ggac jp like swap disk.
Hehehe. So now i have fully works AC+ for 11$.

I wonder, if i can call it piracy of not? :?

Last I heard, it was supposed to be a PSN exclusive. It does look gorgeous, from the screens I've seen.

Last I heard it had not been anounced for a home release at all. It was mentioned as a possible PS3 port, but no more than that. Does anyone know how the name of BlazBlue is pronounced? I've been saying "BlayBlue"...

EGM already confirmed a couple months ago that it's getting a PS3 port and coming to the US by means of a currently unknown distributor.

I suppose by "unknown" you mean Aksys games.

LOL

#Reload was the best one in my opinion (I'm a top player :D)

core is good but the characters are generally too good/strong meaning one mistake = game over, and baiken is top tier and still makes no sense so thats another minus.
but its the current game so thats what people play, i enjoy playing Justice from time to time so i nabbed core + when i was in japan, its also got a more fun single player mode.

HNK/FOTNS is garbage.

looking forward to BlazBlue, with 10 characters it might not have much longevity unless they update it every year or so.

BlazBlue looks like it's going to be a shit house. It already looks broken in some video where there's a 100+ hit combo
People I have dealt with successfully: bleem (x2), spazicon, sven666, sparky, iatneH, Dragon1952, kozo, Ghegs

I am, of course, a huge GG fan, as basically everything in my name/AV/profile suggests. And a huge Bridget fan of course.

Personally, I say, just get the most recent version.

And I agree with what someone said above; BlazBlue, hmm, isnt something I plan on buying.

Im not the type of player that gets into all the technical junk with these games; I fight my own way, and tend to not get along with the "pro" community.

That being said, I got into this series..... and continue to be into it..... in big part thanks to the roster of characters that I know and love. Yeah, the gameplay is of course important to me too, but this has that also, so that's fine. But it's the characters that really do it for me, like Bridget. Or Sol. Or even I-no.

BlazBlue, from what I've seen, looks like a sorta half-assed Guilty Gear.... I mean, look at some of the characters..... they're nearly direct ripoffs. You've got Ky and Sol lookalikes, that are apparantly, what a surprise, rivals or something (and have very similar weapons), a Bridget lookalike with guns (but a girl this time), and another that looks so blasted similar to Potemkin, main difference being different hair.

Looks like a carbon copy of GG to me, but with LESS.

And the way I look at it is, why play a cruddy copy, when I can play the game I'm already into, that has all the characters I like?

I mean, GG 2 or Overture or whatever the heck it is is bad enough, but this is getting rediculous.

Bah, I'll stop here before this becomes a big long rant.

Long story short, Im getting rather irritated with Arc lately.

If you're getting a PS2 version, steer well clear of Isuka.

The first four characters they revealed for BlazBlue were Sol, Ky, Bridget and Potemkin. Even the storyline for the first two are exactly the same, with some faction names changed. It looks like they wanted to expunge a lot of the overly-complicated mechanics present in Guilty Gear that makes it unattractive, realised that doing this in a new edition will get them slated for "dumbing-down," and so created a new franchise for this purpose. To be fair, BlazBlue does look pretty awesome, and these things have to start off with smaller character choices.

And then they decided to take Guilty Gear down the single player action route, though Overture is looking a bit, um, unrefined. And it seems to have minimal Guilty Gear ties at best. And as someone who played Jam for a fair while, why has Ky ran off with Dizzy? She's only three years old you cheating creep.
