Seeing as most taxi drivers will try to cheat you one way or the other, this guy got what he deserved... ;)

One day all of the so called news will be linked back to video game moments/features.

"yesterday, there was an explosion. The explosion was similar to that of the policebuilding in GTA2"

"after playing Street Fighter 4 and beating it with every character within an hour the jouth slit his wrists"

"The man who shot the sherrif alledgedly played Tetris the day before his act of violence"

what silliness, all to just grab the attention and sell.

After smoking a sigarette, he murdered the tourists

Always blaming something other than society itself.

I can't stop crying with tears of laughter after what you just wrote! :)

This weekend at the Greek island of Santorini, a 31 year old guy, after a very heated argument with the girl-friend, losses his mind, butchers her and the family dog, cuts off her head and goes out in the central square presenting the head to the tourists and to the surprised locals!!

The police which arrived in the scene soon after, shot him 5 times and tried to arrest him, but the guy who was in amok grabbed the knife (which somehow slipped from the policeman’s attention) slit the cop’s throat, got into one of the cop-cars and drove away!
He then drives over two women doctors who were riding a motorcycle followed by a very impressive pursuit around the island, until he was finally arrested!

I wonder what video game he had been playing the previous night?!
LOL!!!  Image

A friend of mine was there at the scene and it was not as "light" as these sites presented it to be! ;)

With all this talk about how violent video games "influence" people, why don't these "influenced" kill someone who deserves it?

I heard the original incident that happened in the early 80's was a drug induced dare between buddies who used their DnD dice to decide whether to kill their parents or not. Has little to do with the game or drugs for that matter (might as well been drunk and flipped a coin), but the scapegoat was there for the press/public to latch onto.
This awesomely "sinister" commercial being fresh in peoples mind at the time surely didn't help matters: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ttFvjY6zJ0

isnt that an urban legend?

i remember DnD (and whatever other irl-rpgs were popular at the time) were all under heavy fire in the 80s, back then videogames only turned your eyes square and your bones brittle.. what an innocent time.
the destruction of everything, is the beginning of something new. your whole world is on fire, and soon, you'll be too..

There will always be cuckoos in the world, video games/dnd or not.

Apparently, there are a lot more people suffering from mental disorders than we think.

This is really all because of rap and heavy metal music. GTAIV doesn't help. Just about any type of media creates killers.

Maybe what people should be doing is living in the forest isolated from all society...wait...that doesn't work either...

The video game industry is not responsible in any way, IMO, for crap like this. You have to be pretty messed up to play a violent game and then want to take someone else's life.
Games are no more the route of the problem of societal violence then guns are-isn't just about every house in Switzerland armed? Compare gun crime rates in Switzerland with gun crime rates in the US.

Yes, but when/if an invasion by aliens or underground goblins occur, we'll be shooting them, not our fellow human beings.
