Taito Arcade Cab
Taito Arcade Cab
A friend of mine (who doesn't care about games at all) found this Legend of Kage arcade cabinet in the garage of the place she just moved into. In any case, the board inside of it is actually Bubble Bobble. She offered to sell the whole thing to me for a $100 and I'm pretty tempted. As far as I can tell, it only seems to run boards of the conversion class Taito Classic (as per KLOV). So what other games does this include other than Legend of Kage and Bubble Bobble? Most of the classic Taito games I want to play (Space Dungeon) seem to be proprietary boards that don't fit into anything else. Any suggestions?
If UD can do this for you, you'll be sorted to play just about anything! Sounds like an awesome deal by the way, I'm jealous!undamned wrote:How about I make you an adapter to go from that proprietary connector to JAMMA so you can play JAMMA games and then you send me your Bubble Bobble PCB

Wow, that is a pretty cool deal to buy such an arcade cabinet with a classic Bubble Bobble PCB already installed from the go. Too bad your friend isn't a retro arcade gamer. If I found such an abandoned 100% working arcade cabinet, I'd keep it. There's nothing better than a free arcade game cab. ^_~
Listen to the wise words of undamned and sven666, and you got yourself an arcade cabinet deal that only comes up once in a lifetime. ^_~
I'd recommend getting it converted to Jamma spec and it will open up new possibilities to try out new PCB offerings. Once you enter the world of arcade PCBs, there's no going back to just being content with home console based games.

You've convinced me. I'll spring on that shit, prompt-like. Although, as for converting it to Jamma, I'm not sure whether I care enough to or not. I'm not particularly interested in getting a big collection of boards to swap out. Also, my interest, for the most part, is classic games (80s, etc.). As far as I can tell, Jamma is a newer technology.
Actually, I just want the fucker to play Phoenix or something.
