Ghost in the Shell: Puppet Master

Post by elfhentaifan »

I got lots of sweet ps2 demos days ago, and amongst them i found a GitS Demo of the ps1 Game Puppet Master.

My impression: It is smooth and easy to controlm without any delays.
The music was AWESOME, i played it several times just because of that :P , the atmosphere was very sweet (futuristic, war-like) and the accuracy in general wasnt anything you could commplain about.
The camera was also nicely done, very cool when you climb up a building, the camery just obeys kindly and climbs up along with (without any affect on the FPS).

The athmosphere makes this game so lovely, but actually my impression was just to that one level (the one at the port).

Anyone else ever played it?
Is it just me or is this one a science fiction bomb on the mighty PS One?

Is this the one with the crazy tank? If so, yeah, it's awesome. Quite stomach churning. Rock hard too, I remember having to cheat to get past a few levels when I was young

Awesome music, vertiginous camera, mad blasting action.

Even the FMV anime opening intro of GiTS for PSX is legendary -- watch it enough times and you'll discover that it is the red colored Fuchikoma that is hunting the black colored Fuchikoma that is controlled by Mokoto herself...I thought it was the other way around but it's not. ^_~

When I got my PS1, I grabbed an issue of OPM that had a demo for GITS on it. It was the second full game that entered my PS, after FFVII. I had never even heard of the anime, heh. Pretty cool game though I'm pretty sure I just continued my way through it.

I started keeping my eye out for a copy at local game shops when I saw Stand Alone Complex but never found one.

The PSP game of GiTS: Stand Alone Complex got an official USA release and with a cheap-ass MSRP of $19.99 USD as well...this was when most PSP game UMDs were still priced at $39.99 though back in 2005-2006. ^_~

The USA version of PSX GiTS has the same voice actors & actresses that did the voices for the USA theatrical film version of the first GiTS...very polished & well done IMO. In fact, the PSX GiTS game engine runs on a heavily modified PSX Jumping Flash 2 engine... ^_~

PLAY THIS GAME

Best action shooter out there.
It's the ZoE2 for the PS1 and and even for GitS haters (like me) a MUST PLAY.

I somehow feel like watching the first film right now, which was actually the only good movie from GitS.
Lucky me i didnt sell that yet.. 8)

Yeah, that cool GiTS PSX game has over 10 minutes of original anime to check out. If you have a proper Gold Finger cheat device hooked up to the backside of your PSX's parallel port, you can watch all the FMV cutscenes to your heart's content (without having to play it through just to watch them).

If you want there's a cheat to unlock them all without sweating - I assume you missed some triggered by failing a mission objective?

do you mean timing them out (bossfights)?
Dying means game-over in every stage.
Also i explored that you have to accomplish training mode in the different ranks for different cutscenes(A,B,C..)

Thanks but I want to unlock them by myself, before using cheats

I had this way back when - I finished it, but didn't think it was that great overall. Some nice touches and a fab soundtrack, just gets a bit repetitive towards the end.
There are far worse Anime based games tho (PSX Spriggan!)
