Tell me about the Wonderswan

Post by Skykid »

I'm thinking about picking one up, mainly for Guilty Gear Petit, but I don't know much about them.

I'm looking for a bit of advice.

1: How much are these now? Last I was in Japan a few years back, they were pennies.

2: Bar the Guilty Gear stuff, what games are worth getting for it? Any shmups make use of that vert screen?

3: Finally I fancy a white console. Whats the best system to get out of the WS colour and the WS crystal?

Cheers blokes.

Judgement silversword does use vertical orientation

Also everybody here in the posts below is going to suck up to it. They're going to be wrong. It's overrated

Also, pick up the Klonoa game if you get a chance. It's pretty decent if you like Klonoa. Switches between yoko/tate which is pretty neat. There's supposed to be a Ghouls & ghosts game too but I haven't tried it yet

And wonderswan can be emulated perfectly on PSP

They sound interesting. I remember hearing about JS now. Silversword, Silvergun. Lol.

Anyone else got anymore of the info from the 1st post?

Crystal has far better screen visibility AFAIK. Still not backlit tho.

Do crystals come in white?

EDIT: Wikipedia says no, unless the swans are skinnable (they look like they could be but there's no mention of that.) :?:

Did the Crystal do the "around light" trick the GBA SP did?

Clock Tower is for Wonderswan.

That said, I have a wonderswan and hardly ever used it.

Just bought this:

smoke black, before this week I didn't even know of this edition.

Then yesterday somebody in Germany also put up a similar one on auction here  : http://cgi.ebay.nl/Swancrystal-Clear-Bl ... dZViewItem
I bought Tetris from Ghegs which is the main reason I got the little bugger.
Now I think I have a pretty mean set up. I could do with a wondercoin though. Anybody have 'em?

system has absoluteley nothing of interest unless youre a jap-speaking RPG fan imo.. sold mine off loooong ago.. (so long ago i actually got a couple of hundred $s for one of those FF special editions :D)

ed: some editions look really sexy tho, if youre just gonna put it on display you could do alot worse :)
