Yup. That goes for almost every single video game ever made though. It's indeed a shame.DC906270 wrote:It is kind of awful the way as soon as you peel the shrink wrap from a sealed game, about 40% of the value will fall off
Counterfeit Ginga Fukei Densetsu Sapphire Warning
I see someone has opened another thread about Sapphire fakes. Not sure if this link is of use to anyone, but Lee at videogameimports.com had problems with snides back in '02. Sorry if this has already been posted.

Me too. I was young and innocent when I wrote this ~3 years ago. There are some incredibly good games that warrant such a high pricetag, albeit not very many. With every new generation the ratio of great games to flashy ones is getting worse. The gameplay of most modern games isn't worth more than $1.50, at best.orange wrote:verily disagreeingCeph wrote:Well, no video game is worth $350 just for its gameplay

but yeah there's not a lot of games that meet that criteria, but the ones that do i'd gladly pay that much (or more) for in the case that i had to
$350? For a game?
Um... I couldn't pay that much. Not because I'm utterly broke, but because I just couldn't bring myself to fork out that kind of cash for a game. The most I ever paid for a game, was $115 for Thunder Force V's Special Pack shortly after it first came out (and that included a "converter" cart, and fast shipping). Even then, I felt a bit guilty about spending that much money on a game. But $350? There's simply no way I could justify that to myself, no matter how badly I wanted it.
And I'm not even the penny pinching type!

I don't intend to own arcade games. Besides not wanting to pay $100 to $500 for each game, I also don't have the space for arcade board storage... let alone a cabinet set up. I'm not knocking anyone who does collect them, but it's not something I'm interested in.GaijinPunch wrote:Make sure you run away from any affordable super gun.The Coop wrote:$350? For a game?

i bought a supergun and a PCB.....2 months later i bought a cab....a few months later i started buyng high priced cave pcbs...now im buying another cab and more cave games......
be afraid...be very afraid.....
arcade games are worse than crack......lolz
second that... it's evil. I got a supergun then bought a few cheap boards like RF ect then I got ESP Galuda 2, that board was the end of sane spending habits for me.
I've now got:
RF1
RF2
Macross
19XX
1944
AvP
Aliens
ESP RaDe
ESP Galuda 2
Guwange
Mushi
Ibara
not anything compared to some but I really had to scrape hard for Mushi and Guwange. Especially that Guwange, I had zero cash to put towards that boad but found it with some of that art and had one of those panic/oh shit moments and comitted to the purchase.
My next way to much for a game purchase..... I REALLY want Mushi 2. Mushi 1 is my favorite board hands down.... I find it so much fun and the bullet patterns on maniac so addictive.

"The original has HCD5080 printed on the middle left of the top side and HRH800925-1SAAS"
is it possible, that those two indicators have different positions on the ring?
I have seen different pictures of the ring (allegedly real not fake) and HCD5080 and HRH800925-1SAAS were positioned differently.

I'd be OK with this bump if the link actually worked.
You'll want to fix the typo in the URL and put the [url] tag around it to make it clickable.
