Your favourite Qix clone?

Post by No_not_like_Quake »

Choose the original or its sequels if you please. Main purpose of this thread is to find out if there are any obscure variations of the "genre" that I or others may not know about.

My favourite so far is Volfied arcade version. Played the PCE version briefly and seemed quite good. I don't remember playing the Genesis version.

Gals Panic. I forgot which part I liked most though, probably 4 or S.

Something that was missing in all the clones I've tried is the scoring element of the original game; fast lines worth a few points and slow lines worth lots of points.

MAME has an unreleased prototype called Twin Qix that has two-player versus. It's still missing the fast/slow scoring element, but fun with another person.

I thought Qix Neo on the PS1 was a great nab. I'm pretty sure it's a direct conversion of the official Taito arcade game, Volified. Good fun.
