Hey Everyone!
I run a humble classic gaming website at racketboy.com and I'm looking for a shmup expert to help round out my article library.
I enjoy shmups, but I honestly suck at them and don't know all the terminology and such. So, I'm willing to reach into my pocket and pay a real expert with some decent writing skills to put up a well-rounded guide for the shmup library for a given console.
I'm looking to start with the Sega Saturn as its one of my favorites.
Eventually, I would also like to have ones for the PS1, TG16, and others.
I already have a mediocre piece on the Dreamcast that I hope to update myself soon.
I don't make a ton of money, but I'm willing to pay a reasonable amount just because I want to have the information out there.
I can take care of the graphics and grammatical editing, but I'll just need a few paragraphs for each of the Saturn shmups that are worthy of most shmup fans' time. I would essentially what to know what made that particular game special and/or its strengths, etc.
I will periodically check this thread, but the best way to contact me is via email at racketboynick AT gmail
We can discuss you expertise and possible dollar amounts via email.
I can also give free Dreamcast VGA Boxes and/or Saturn modchips as part of the deal.
thanks for your time!

I would love to write something too, but I think my english isn't good enough to do any kind of serious writing.
Don't you want someone to translate your articles to portuguese?
I've written to an online magazine once (England based), and the guy had to keep correcting my texts all the time because of my poor english

Wow... thanks for the quick replies.
You don't need to be a professional -- I think what matters most is that you have a good understanding of the games and are passionate about the topic.
I guess since we have multiple people interested so far, why don't you email me a writeup of Radiant Silvergun that is 2-3 paragraphs (not super long paragraphs) along with a list of the Saturn shmups you've played or have access to, and what you think would be reasonable compensation/pay for a full Saturn shmup guide.
BTW, you can take a good amount of time on the final product, if needed. I don't have a solid deadline or anything. Just the sooner its completed, the sooner you get paid
If English isn't your first language, it's not a big deal. I have had contributors in that situation and I can usually edit them without too much effort.
