im looking for a free ware game that is like mushihimesama or dodonpachi of some sort

i have already tried edens edge and the other game that is like it but when i play i get really hardcore slow downs when there is a lot of bullets

i dont know why i play other games that are just as much on the PC and i dont get the big slow down

but yes suggestions please?

the slowdown is intentional...you can turn it off in the settings menu....

they are trying to emulate the slowdown seen in cave games.....especially mushi, which BWR seems to draw most of its ideas from, especially scoring....

even the patterns are quite similar

BWR plus is one of my alltime favorite PC shmups

if you dont liike the slowdown try the original BWR....it doesnt have the slowdown except for during crazy screen filling patterns, which is mostly just the shortcomings of your CPU and GPU/RAM

also try XOP Black...it was made by udderdude, a member of this forum.....its very DDP'ish and VERY bullethell!!!

you can find it in the development forum....

and remember....play it on very hard......cuz everytime you die udderdude smiles......lolz

yea i have BWR plus and i get alot of slowdown on that game

and how do you turn off slowdowns?
i look in the setting and i dont see anything about turning it off

Just stick it in accel mode to eliminate most of the slowdown. It's supposed to be a very slllloooooow game though

Eh? The scoring system is almost directly taken from Ketsui.

even mushi and ddp have slowdown plus until you can 1cc the 3 modes on BWR with slowdown why worry about playing it without?

Anything by X.X (BWR+, Eden's Aegis/Eden's Edge) is very Cave like and bears resemblance to Mushi. The fourth ship in BWR is modelled after the Mushi bug, I believe.

XOP Black is good too but the patterns are a little too random for my tastes.

And the slowdown is intentional. Mushi has slowdown too.

oh yea i can 1cc BWR with the slow down on all 3 modes because of my huge slowdowns. i dont think my slowdowns are normal though because i watch other peoples replays and i see the slowdowns but they are not as terrible as mine

and when you say put it in accel how do i do that?

options where else? accel you can turn it on and off and id say your slowdowns are definitely not ment to be happening as there are only a few slowdowns in the game namely at certain bosses with hectic patterns .

on the FPS counter on the side what is it running at?? i have a feeling your PC is running this at 30 FPS(or at least way under 60FPS)...which would make this game laughably easy....

but consider that is half what it should be.....

No, they're referring to the options of BWR+. Eden's Edge doesn't have an accell option or a wait option as far as I know. It's one of X.X's older games.

hmm but i have the touhou imperishable night and that game gets ALOT of bullets and it works perfect

and i used the accel mode and i still get a lot of slowdown24/7 of the game and the game is still super easy lol

i dont know what the problem is

I imagine it's due to your vsync or some custom settings in your graphics card control panel. Unless you fed the game into your computer via punchcards you should have enough power to run them.
