@ Work:
Nothing but water. I drink 1 L per day, but I should get another bottle because I always run out by mid afternoon.

I refuse to become a coffee zombie, and I've never cared much for tea.

@ Home:
I used to be a soda junkie, now I'm a cranberry juice junkie (especially cranberry lime).

Beer is good, I usually drink 2 after dinner (not every night, maybe 3-5 nights a week). Although I only drink good stuff so that probably counts as 3 or 4 "standard" beers.

@ Restaurants:
Beer if they have anything good on tap. Most places don't, so I opt for flavored cola (Cherry Coke, Dr. Pepper, etc), lemonade, or water.

I can't stand that stuff. Not only does it taste terrible while you're drinking it, but it has a nasty aftertaste. I'd rather just go thirsty until I can get water or something.

I drink a fair amount of alcohol once a week, with the occasional glass of Grand Marnier while relaxing and reading a book on some random nights.

Either than that, I'll have a diet soda once in a while, but I drink water like it's going out of style. I probably go through at least 100oz of the stuff a day.

For the most part, I stick to water and occasionally milk (2%, either straight up or on cereal,) but will drink non-caffeinated soda on occasion as well. I do not drink alcohol at all, and I try to avoid caffeine as much as possible since I have found that caffeine in any amount can cause me to have trouble sleeping at night.

As of recent:

45% Water
30% Green Tea
25% Everything Else (soft drinks, alcohol, milk, etc.)

If it's not filtered water that I'm guzzling down, it's more often than not Green Tea instead since I love the stuff. I'm surprised at myself for how much I'm actually not drinking more soft drinks and alcohol.

Yeah. I´d rather drink that sugar in my water than artificial sweeteners. They just have a very bitter, chemical taste to them, and most of them have been proven to be carcinogenic, and play tricks on your body since it thinks that there must be sugar coming since it´s sweet. And since no actual energy is coming, you get hungry as hell from it, nullifying all of the effects you might have wanted from a "diet" product.

Seems many people already got used to that taste and prefer it over sugar, but I say if you can´t handle the sugar you should stay away from pop completely (as I do most of the time). And I never could find any difference between Coke Zero and Coke Light, but I guess they want to keep the people who are used to the "original" chemical taste. Coke Light is also marketed more agressively towards women (at least in Germany) for whatever reason...

I drink about ~1.5 liters of liquid a day on average. Don't particularly prefer sweet stuff, barely ever take alcohol (even if it's absolutely expected of me to not be sober at a certain socialization event, I'll still prefer something less toxic). I guess I can say my drinking habits are more-or-less normal.

Last year, there was a period of about 3 weeks in which my only fluid intake had been from cider ('hard cider' to our US buddies), and I certainly wasn't going thirsty. After realizing this, I noticed I was getting quite a few patches of oddly dry skin, which was very unusual for me. Needless to say, I nipped that bullshit in the bud immediately, and even though I still drink too much and too regularly, I generally try to keep my water intake up to such a level that my junk has the pressure of a fire hose.

Alcohol will dehydrate you and depletes B12. That's probably why that happened.
Feedback will set you free.

Oh, definitely - I understand why it happened, I was just alarmed that it took me so long to notice. Make sure you're getting your water, folks (and aren't flirting with alcoholism). ;)

The whole reason I've never been hungover is because I know what causes it (dehydration and B12 depletion), and how to fight it (Gatorade).

How does one get diabetes, besides being morbidly obese? Drinking too much soda?

^^ Genetics also plays a factor in that.

In my case, I stopped drinking soda at work and home (Only drink it occassionally) and made sure to keep real cane sugar, lemonade drink mix and water at hand. Sure, not exactly healthy, but it's better than soda, and the sugar helps me play DDR when I get home. 8)
Don't hold grudges. GET EVEN.

Disregarding genetics and all that, either becoming too fat, or consuming too much sugar. "Too much" varies from person to person, so it's best not to experiment, and just keep your cholesterol and sugar intake moderate.

To provide an idea of too much sugar, a friend of mine once got into the habit of skipping meals and drinking 2L+ of lucozade a day. His doctor ordered him to stop doing that when he started getting headaches and was always in a foul mood.

high fives to all people who think Diet coke is fucking vile! The people who say they prefer the taste over regular coke need to stop smoking cigarettes and pouring sulfur in there mouth because there wrong.

Gatorade, eh? I just try to alternate beers with water, but the beer usually distracts me too much.
