Your daily water and beverage intake

Post by ARCADIA »

Just curious, trying to know if I'm normal or not :?

I don't drink alcohol at all, but often feel excessive thirst so I gulp (water, soda and other sweet beverages) like crazy and piss a lot. I may have a small bladder...but can't stop drinking.

Might want to see a doctor to make sure, those are supposed to be 'classic' signs of diabetes.

It's not a 'sure sign', but I think it would be a good indication that you shouldn't ignore things either.

Yeah, definitely get it checked. Even if it isn't anything, at least you'd know, plus preventive action will save you a lot in the long run.

Could also have something to do with your intake. Soda is high in salt and caffeine, both which increase urination and dehydration if you drink a lot of it.

I drink mostly unsweetened tea. I'll have a diet soda or something every once in a while, but too much sweet stuff makes me sick.

I drink a ton of water and lemonade, and occasionally a soda here and there. After having two surgeries for kidney stones I make it a point to drink constantly. I piss all the time, but 99% of the time it's crystal clear.

Milk during breakfast, water any time after that. I love water. I chug a cup of water at regular intervals during the day. And man, I know what you mean about having to pee alot. I feel all liquids I drink run through my body after like 1.5 hrs and i have to pee again.

if it wasent for the fact that i turn into a cranky bitch without my morning tea i could proboably go all day without a drop of anything... im not a heavy drinker at all, i hardly ever drink anything with my meals for instance..

ed: i proboably drank a full size olympic swimmingpool of alcohol in my days tho but thats another issue.. and its hardly every day.

Coffee

(pretty much in that order across the course of the day.)

It's just meh. It doesn't have any noticeable taste.
so i drink a lot of instant tea. that's not exactly healthy or good for my *cough* athletic body, but i just can't get used to drink plain, boring water ^^

I have about 4-5 glasses of milk a day. Sometimes an energy drink.

I don't really drink water, and don't plan on doing so, but at least my current drinking habits beat constantly sucking away on coke.

3-4 cups of tea/coffee
1 litre of regular coke
1 glass of grapefruit juice

I had those weakness problems with my hands and feets some weeks ago, it luckily vanished after a week (never occured before/after)
Also i often felt bad whenever i was eating something sweet like chocolate etc,
Though i suppose i kinda rather have another problem with my stomach, which is not less annoying of course :(

I stick to water and beer, usually a few glasses of water and between 1 and 4 beers a day depending on how strong the beer is. If I go out to eat and I can't get a beer, I'll get unsweetened iced tea. Once in a long while I'll drink lemonade.

It sure is. Having grown up in a house with a well, all municipal water tastes like shit to me. Filters are the next best thing.

if taking a work day for example:

-starting out wit a large cup of coffee.
-first break: getting a 1,5 ltr bottle of either diet coke or diet orange soda (drinking about half of it)
-between first break and lunch break: finishing of the bottle
-lunch break: buying a second bottle and drink some + always some freshly made coffee too.
-finishing of second bottle in the afternoon.
-when home from work: CC cranberry and some beers at the rest of the evening.

On days off: mostly CC cranberry and beer.

I've been told I drink a lot (both alcoholic and non alcoholic for that matter).

Lots of ice helps.

Other than that, not-from-concentrate apple juice fucking rules. Actually, any juice is pretty good as long as it's not from concentrate. :D

I only drink coffee (6-7 cups a day), milk and water. Always hated the taste of sodas... and juice doesn't do it for me (too damn sweet!).

As pretty much everyone else said, go get yourself checked. Just in case...

I drink water and coffee, nothing else.
Coffee to get awake in the morning.
And water to drain out all of the toxics I (voluntarily) get in through a day :)

I have several plastic bottles ready to be filled with nice tap water lying around in my room at any time. Thankfully the tap water in our region is very good. I tend to get headaches pretty quickly if I don´t drink enough.

Other than that, I really love Redbush/Rooibos (which is surprisingly cheap in certain stores) and recently I discovered decaffinated black tea - I stopped my caffeine intake a year ago completely, and it´s nice to be able to drink pot after pot of this without getting cold sweat or having to stay up for a week.

And @Arcadia, I have a friend that described that excessive thirst and he got diagnosed with diabetes shorty after (his father is a doctor so he quickly saw what that was about). Good luck :?

I fill my huge Sigg water bottle with filtered water several times a day. I think I usually meet the recommended 8 glasses of water a day. I also have approx. 2 alcohol drinks a day. Red wine and martinis (gin + vermouth) mostly, though I occasionally drink whisky or vodka. I try to avoid sodas and don't drink as much juice as I should. I no longer drink cow's milk, only soy milk.

Now you know way more than you wanted about my drinking habits.

I've noticed that once you get used to drinking the amount of water that you're supposed to get - which is apparently about 2 liters a day - you start feeling really shitty if you don't have that much.

Personally, I get this weird side effect where I will start sneezing a lot if I am dehydrated. I guess my big nose is the first thing to get declined water when my body is short.

No alcohol, rarely soda. I have a glass of orange juice in the morning and milk only from bowls of cereal. I have my SIGG bottle (1.0 L) for water for the rest of the day. 8)

Been meaning to drink more tea, though...
