Deadly Tolls: Sick truckers causing fatal wrecks

Post by Ed Oscuro »

This goes in the category of "dying and/or dead people: not good candidates for heavy equipment operators," but I just found the headline humorous. Reminds me of a joke...

I just saw this same story on the news. Apparently it applies to all commercial drivers. I just wish they would quit throwing their urine filled bottles out the window on the highway. Blech!

Topic title is somewhat misleading. I read it like 'sick (as in deviant/twisted) truckers (deliberately) cause 'accidents'.

I read some of it and its about Vans and lorries 40 tons. Well thats stupid! If you black out and have seizures at all you should not be able to drive. One of my friends had a epileptic fit once and is not allowed to drive for at least a year here in the UK and only once the doctor has given her the all clear.

I'm afraid not. I'll take your word for it :)

What Lordstar said just reminded me that a friend of mine has blacked out twice in the last year without apparent cause, yet he just successfully passed his HGV driving test. I'm assuming he neglected to mention these 'episodes' during the medical.
