Gennojo Hyuga:
BER - 1,380,005,250 - Hyuga2 - 1,329 - All
This is hard. Either version of Fumiko has strong attack power for her shikigami attack and bomb, so bosses go down rather quickly. Meanwhile, Hyuga's weak attack power overall forces me to dodge or think hard about bullet patters that I don't even have to think about for any other character.
As far as all clears go, all that's left is a 2-player all clear. (Hello, IlMrm. :) )
Actually, I'm going for score, now, but I haven't committed to a character yet.

The nice thing about Hyuga's Shikigami, though, is once you stick it onto a target, you dont have to bother aiming anymore until that target explodes.
And dont forget that the bubble that's right in front of him when using that, can also damage and kill things. In particular, it's also useful for stopping those destroyable red ball bullets.
Hyuga is easily my best character in this game because of that Shikigami of his.... might seem a tad strange, but it's so useful once you get the hang of it.
Well, that's not counting Kuga.... I dont really use him myself, he's too easy....
One bad thing with Hyuga though:
His bomb SUCKS.
It's not very strong, it's wildly unpredictable, and what's more, it's a little dangerous to use.
It's not bad when used against a screen fulla basic enemies,
but I wouldnt rely on it whatsoever for bosses. Just learn to dodge their patterns instead.
THE spot in the game where Hyuga seems to have the most issues is actually the 4th boss; her stupid wall cards (and cards in general) can really interfere with his Shikigami.
I really just hate her........
True, and I found this useful for some boss forms. But other times, it would take at least twice as long to clear a boss form, and I would likely lose a life before clearing it anyway. I have been using Hyuga's Type 2 shikigami, though, so perhaps this shikigami feature is more useful to Type 1 players.-Bridget- wrote:The nice thing about Hyuga's Shikigami, though, is once you stick it onto a target, you dont have to bother aiming anymore until that target explodes.
I found this useful for stage 5-1 boss's final form, but that's about it. But I can see how this shikigami feature is useful to high scoring players.-Bridget- wrote:And dont forget that the bubble that's right in front of him when using that, can also damage and kill things. I like to think of it this way: not many people use Hyuga (I think!), so perhaps not all of the scoring opportunities have been fully realized with him. Because of this, it could be easier to get an Arcadia record with Hyuga than with, say, the more popular Kuga.-Bridget- wrote:Hyuga is easily my best character in this game because of that Shikigami of his.... might seem a tad strange, but it's so useful once you get the hang of it.
Then again, the current record holder could be a genius who has perfected using Hyuga anyway. :)
You can make using him hard by going for higher scores!-Bridget- wrote:Well, that's not counting Kuga.... I dont really use him myself, he's too easy....
Yes, I agree. But it did push me to learn how to dodge the first attack of Stage 3-2 boss's final form (with the orange ball and purple needle spam), since Hyuga's bomb does very little damage. I've been bombing that attack with most of the other characters, but now I can apply what I've learned to the other characters. Hyuga's sucky bomb may have pushed me to learn how to dodge other attacks, too.-Bridget- wrote:One bad thing with Hyuga though:

Yeah, I usually plan to use one bomb on her second form's winder attack (fast purple needles in a crisscrossing pattern with aimed purple needles) and one on her third form's fireball attack. And I usually die to the winder attack anyway, because it doesn't stop and I'm reluctant to use another bomb.-Bridget- wrote:THE spot in the game where Hyuga seems to have the most issues is actually the 4th boss; her stupid wall cards (and cards in general) can really interfere with his Shikigami.

What's about as bad, though, is the boss in stage 4-1. For most of the other characters, I would push the walls out so I would have more space to dodge bullets. But it's tough to do that with Hyuga. I've never been able to latch onto the boss's balls with my own energy balls, so I can only use my shot. But I have to be rubbing against the walls to get all my shots on the boss's balls (otherwise, some of them hit the boss itself). And I have trouble keeping that up, so the walls cave in on me, and I have trouble dodging bullets from there.

Third_strike - 5,349,642,540 - Kuga2 - 32,646 - All
Well, excuse my English.
Initially I would not want that score was for the table (The windows version and the XBOX version slowdown rather than a DC). I will play in DC in next score.
I have not seen the shiki II DVD.
I would like somebody saw the replay I posted and pointed the mistakes of strategy (let the x8 errors to me) and I am training a new 3-1 milking.
I have a question:
In bosses 2-2, 3-2, 4-2, 5-1 and 5-2 wath has more value? Kill for time whit normal attack or kill with the shiki attack the intermediate life bars?
I will play in DC in next score.
Thanks for assist!

I don't have the windows version, so I unfortunately can't watch your replay.
The best way to handle the bosses is to destroy all their parts and then kill them as quick as possible with your red x8 normal shot (Kuga's shiki attack is quite weak). The only bosses which should be milked till the time runs out are: 1-2 boss second lifebar (milk the pink orbs), 2-2 boss first lifebar (milk the grey orbs). Both milking techniques are best done with Kuga's shiki attack.
The DVD player gets the following scores during the stages:
1-1: 596,390,760
1-2: 674,816,490
2-1: 573,324,990
2-2: 1,067,518,700
3-1: 789,988,800
3-2: 552,414,130
4-1: 790,409,550
4-2: 482,822,170
5-1: 700,891,490
5-2: 301,288,970
final score: 6,529,866,050
Hope that helps!
Good luck!

To BER:
I've found that the little ball in front of him CAN actually be useful for scoring in certain situations; there's a couple spots (like one section of 3-2) where I use that to get some extra x8 kills. Which, of course, is all-important when it comes to scoring. Of course, I can only do this cause I've played this SO many times that I've somehow memorized everything, lol..... and Im someone that usually cant remember my own phone number
And I myself use just the type-1 version of his attack; I've gotten so used to it I cant use the other
Stupid stage 4 is really the only thing holding me back from scoring higher..... if Im gonna get hit, anywhere in the entire game, it's gonna be in 4-2, MAYBE at a couple points in 4-1. Possibly I might also run into a wall in 3. Hate those. Specifically, if Im just gonna start ramming things, the 4-2 boss, that stupid little snot......
I dont have trouble with ANY other boss in the game; dont have to use bombs on any of them (though, I WILL occaisionally do something amazingly dumb like ram one of them or something)...... but HER, just....... aaaaaaaaagh. And even if I do think to TRY to use bombs to damage her faster, Hyuga will intelligently spend half the bomb attack striking at those accursed cards of hers....... and then I'll lose the shikigami lock, at that, because I bombed.
If I can just find a better way through 4-2 and that fight, I should be able to increase my score by quite alot.
Gotta stop obsessing over Mushihime first though, heh......

I have some scores that I neglected to put up. These are all normal game scores from the PC version:
Gennojo Hyuga (PC replay):
BER - 3,591,395,570 - Hyuga2 - 16,784 - All
Fumiko O.V. (PC replay):
BER - 2,561,904,570 - Fumiko1 - 5,822 - All
Kim de John (PC replay):
BER - 4,045,497,810 - Kim2 - 16,087 - All
Niigi G.B. (PC replay):
BER - 3,138,124,320 - Niigi2 - 9,584 - All
I have replay files for the PC version for each of these scores, but I doubt many have the PC game itself. And I couldn't easily create video files from the replays. If you can help me with this, please let me know so I can refer you to anyone who wants a video.
