I actually have played it, and its not 'too' bad. The PSP one was far more tedious. It's basically just gauntlet with some RPG elements and character development thrown into the mix.
It's not incredibly deep, but if you take into account that its basically just a Gauntlet clone, its fine. I enjoyed it. If nothing else, the DS version of the game better recreated the feel of the original.
