I had never played 1-6 on "the real thing" before I got MMAC for 'Cube, either. But I still find the control for them kinda wonky, since when they added separate buttons for turbofire and sliding (:D) they put the turbofire on the Y button, above the fire (

), so in order to jump and turbofire you have to either crane one finger over the button or hold the controller in your left hand and put your right hand over the buttons as if the controller was a keyboard, and if you do the latter you can't easily hit Z, which is the subscreen button instead of Start, which would have made much more sense. Also, for MM1-6, you can hit L and R to change weapons a la MM7, and since it's so non-intuitive to hit Z for the menu I end up hitting L and R a lot until I recognize the right palette for the weapon I want, and that's awkward and screws me over when the action is getting heated. Also, I heard that they took out the ending for MM7, but I haven't ever beaten that game so I can't verify, and probably won't anytime soon because they couldn't bother to add the extra turbofire/slide buttons for that game, never mind that the original only used two face buttons like the NES games.
...But I'm getting used to all that. Because I'm not a quitter, and besides, I paid money for this sucker.
On topic: Mega Man 8 would be beautiful if it weren't for the absolutely horrible voice acting. [opinion]I swear, voice acting is the worst thing to happen to video games since the FPS.[/opinion]
