So um... OK! Now that I've got that out of the way, I can post that I updated the Space Invaders Extreme high score thread without feeling weird about wasting my 3000th post.

Some forums don´t display those but rather the date joined, but that´s an even weirder way of measuring the e-penis. Then there´s the system of giving others karma points when they post something that helps others or whatever, but in the end any display of being older/bigger/better doesn´t amount to anything positive. But then again, it seems that in some forums people really need their stars and medals and titles all over their usernameElixir wrote:It's amazing how people still seem to care about their post counts on Internet forums, even in 2008.
On these forums, the signature restrictions are pretty reasonable. Nothing animated, small size, etc. But I can't stand people who feel like they're talking to the person's avatar. Then again, my avatar's expression is my own when it comes to pretty much anything Internet forum related.MX7 wrote:I think even having an avatar/sig/name is a bit cunty.
I don't really care, it was just late and I happened to notice it while I was updating the Space Invaders Extreme thread. So I was like, "Hey, wow, I got 3000 posts, thats weird, I don't even come here this much."Elixir wrote:It's amazing how people still seem to care about their post counts on Internet forums, even in 2008.
Miss out on what? I love Thunder Force III/IV/AC because Tecno Soft* made them, not because they're called Thunder Force and have a number at the end of them. Tecno Soft isn't making TFVI, its fucking Sega for crying out loud, so at best it'll go off in some other direction and won't be as good as III/AC/IV and at worst it'll be some cheap imitation remix game. So even when this inevitably gets announced for the Wii or whatever download service, I still won't give a shit, because this isn't the return of classic Tecno Soft, its Sega doing the whole NiGHTS Journey of Dreams, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Golden Axe, Alien Syndrome, etc. thing that they've been doing.You should have posted in the Thunder Force VI thread instead and told us how you'll miss out once more;
I did read the OP. Congrats, you're surprised that you have a postcount of 3000. I also read Skykid's thread when he reached (some random number).jp wrote:Granted, if you actually read the OP, you'd see I was more SURPRISED that I had 3000 posts than celebrating it.
You know you might as well just take this as a joke topic or something, nothing to get worked up about really.Elixir wrote:I did read the OP. I have no clue what kind of thought process possesses people into thinking making a thread dedicated to bragging about post count is a good idea. Seriously, no one cares.
If, however, you're doing it intentionally to blend in with Off-Topic's recent barrage of etiquette-lacking, PageDown-inducing threads and posts, keep up the good work, and I hope to see you at 4000.
It pretty much IS a joke topic. Thats what is was intended for anyways.PROMETHEUS wrote:You know you might as well just take this as a joke topic or something, nothing to get worked up about really.Elixir wrote:I did read the OP. Still 3000 posts (whatever were they all about?) should grant a playing of this.jp wrote: It pretty much IS a joke topic. Thats what is was intended for anyways.

Funniest part about this thread is that the S.I.Extreme thread wasn't updated.
naw, I'm just bein' a d-bag. Congrats on posting alot.
This is an altered form of the avatar i started out on Shmups with back when. It's the big head from Legendary Wings that sucks you into a crappy dungeon like level if you don't dodge it. Dodge it and you are totally allowed to continue playing the normal crappy levelsElixir wrote:But I can't stand people who feel like they're talking to the person's avatar. "Well, the avatar is female. I guess the person is too."
Ugh, that's just retarded. An avatar should be of something you like, and something unique that you're going to enjoy seeing over and over, until you decide to change it.
