Hardware quality. ESPECIALLY the controller.

Should have bought that Saturn pad when you had the chance.

By the graphics, looks a port of the "alpha" version of the game to the Dreamcast.

I'm also pumped to hear the soundtrack to this game. Thunderforce 3 along with Lords of Thunder has some of the best music in a shmup. Hope this doesnt disappoint.

Are the graphics a bit crap (I'm looking at the lava textures now) or am I just not used to last gen 3D anymore?

Yes, Yes! Physical stuff ftw. :)
XBLA and PSN only if they do offer physical copies of what you buy as well. :x

On topic:

Music better be up to expected standards though...

It looks somewhere between PS1 and PS2 graphics, honestly. As long as it plays ok, I don't mind, though.

Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

These graphics actually look like average-quality ps2 graphics to me. At least, it's looking nicer for the time than TFV did. TFV was one of those games where I originally saw it on an emulator, and blamed the emu for everything looking out of whack. But.. nope!

And it has free range, so why wouldn't it?

Free Range is so damn overpowered... well except for the last boss.

This is sweet news indeed, and the graphics look very high res-almost as good as Gradius V, IMO. I have mixed feelings about that boss, though-looks kind of clunky-or like a scanned figure.

Dreamcast, Saturn (used to, my Sat is broken), and emulators.

Who knows, maybe it looks way better in motion, or will get improved until release date, or it's just the jpg crap tricking my eyes. But thus far it looks quite worse than, for example, Border Down. And the PS controller suxorz.

Do you have pictures of me posted around your room or something? Do you lay in bed at night wishing I would show up and play PS2 games with you or something?

Holy shit, I mean, I've seen some sad sad people on the internet, but you are taking the cake sir. You need to quit thinking about me so much, its really getting kinda creepy. I mean, I wasn't even posting in here and... here you are, yapping about me... for no reason what-so-ever. Get a hobby, or a friend, or laid, or something. Quit obsessing over some guy on the internet, its not healthy.

Anyways, since I'm here...
Tecno Soft* isn't making this. I loved Thunder Force III/AC/IV because they were Tecno Soft goodness, not because they were called Thunder Force and had a number after their name.
The guy that made Gunstar Super Heroes is making this.
Gunstar Super Heroes was a really lame remake of Gunstar Heroes.
I can almost guarantee this will be a really lame remix as well.

*By Tecno Soft, I mean CAProductions, the company formed by all of Tecno Soft's talent after they left after making Hyper Duel. This is why Tecno Soft suddenly started sucking horribly.

So... there you go. I have nothing further to say on this. It might be worth excitement if CAProductions was making this... but they aren't... its Sega... and this is going to be abother Alien Syndrome, Golden Axe, NIGHTS Journey of Dreams, etc.

Why wouldn't you buy another one? Teh PS2 has an awesome library. Unless you're jp and deny yourself playing great games because of well who knows.
Yeah, I know. I certainly don't want to deny myself playing great games. About two years ago I sold my import PS2 along w/ Mushihimesama, Psikyo collection...eh, teh one w/ Dragon Blaze...3 I think, R-Type Final (import) and Dodonpachi Daioh-Joe...oh, and that Giga Wing Generations thing. I did it cause I needed a new bike. I got an '06 Haro Nyquist Two - charcoal grey. I'm not some kind of stunt or jump rider dude, I just love teh bike and it's fun to ride and should last forever. Maybe I'll pass it on to my little girl someday.
I kept Star Soldier. A couple months later I bought Gradius V and Raiden III domestic, but those got burned up in the great VST studio fire of '07.

I'll recharge my PS2 collection one of these days, but ask me if I'm getting a copy or two of Thunder Force VI...I'll save you some time; you bet your sweet, "jp-stalking" ass, my friend!

Also, at Tecnosoft's website:
THUNDERFORCEⅥ は日本向PlayStation2用パッケージソフトとして セガ社に使用許諾しています
TecnoSoftブランド品の各種許諾や新規製品等への使用許諾の業務開始します。暫くお待ち下さい
This roughly translates to:
Thunder Force VI is a Japanese Playstation 2 software licensed for production by SEGA. License of sales of all kinds of TecnoSoft products, as well as new ones has begun. Details to follow.

Honestly man, I hate Sega so much these days I'm giving serious thought to selling off my entire Sega collection and being done with it.

That, and having about $20K chilling in a savings account is oh so tempting.

Though I'd probably keep the Panzer Dragoon collection. And a Saturn and a few games I guess. Not having PDSaga, Blast Wind, Taromaru, and Batsugun would suck.

Guess I'll just start "harrassing" Stormwatch :P. But srsly Sony couldn't have done you anything that bad that you'll boycott even games from other companies.

When I worked briefly doing PR in the UK for Sega I was made to dress up in a fucking Sonic costume and go on kids TV and wave my arms about like a tit on my first week. It was so horrid I nearly had a nervous breakdown. My wife still takes the piss.

And I still enjoy their games, so go on JP, stick with it. I know you'll keep Blast Wind and your Saturn anyway (and I'll get you that 1CC soon!), so keep the others too!

I didn't stay in PR long!

Please do then don't ever talk about it again... Jesus. Those pics don't even look bad. They most certainly look as good as border down.

You fucking hate sega b/c they bother to make a sequel totally out of being fans and not profit. A sequel ALOT of us want badly after 10 plus years. Then shit on their efforts.. get this... before ANYONE has played it over some fucking famitsu scans.

You have an awesome ability.

Plus I have played ALOT of sequels in my time that were not made by the same staff that turned out quite good.

Your sega hatred has got kinda odd ball.... I mean yeah I understand to a degree but I don't think no matter what they did you'd be happy unless they started making saturn games just for you again.

I for one am INCREDIBLY grateful someone over at sega gave a shit about a IP that is pretty much useless except to it's fans and ressurect it.

How can you be so pissed over some famitsu scans to sell game that you preach are the prime expample of what sega use to be. that sounds a little looney to me..... you love those games but now you don't can't b/c of bad games now or more precise famitsu scans of a game you haven't played.

Ummm... I'm not... selling it all... because of Thunder Force VI... :?

In fact, Thunder Force VI isn't even why I hate Sega these days... so... way to jump to a conclusion there Mario.
