There needs to be a new Fucked Company / dead pool (or better yet, assassination politics for celebrities sinking their careers with Scientology.
Scientology is like the new gay (girls dropping musician idols who out themselves).
I just realized that this might mean that Will Smith treated Independence Day like your neighbor would a Civil War reenactment.

Hmm...so Big Willy opens a new school
---------------------
So many megastars sink themselves into weird cults because, seemingly, they have run out of other pastimes. Travolta, Cruise with their 'free stress tests'
and Madonna with her obscure branch of Judaism.
Doesn't sound good. But the school's Sept. 3 opening, on the leased campus of a former school in Calabasas, will be accompanied by a whiff of controversy. Some of its teachers are members of the Church of Scientology, and it will use teaching methods developed by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.

@ DEL: To be fair, some people say it ain't so. IT CAHN'T BE!!!
Christ in a trombone, I can't believe this.
Elvis did shoot at his TV, but back then I guess "going crazy" with your money meant donating to Civil Rights cases, if we follow his example.FrederikJurk wrote:I always thought that being a superstar makes you snap inside after a couple of years,

Well, $cientology has these celebrity centres...
I guess there is a certain appeal for those celebs, because the people there listen to their problems without going "OMG ITS WILL ZMITH!!11".
Besides, they don't have to work for $cientology like the average joe, because $cientology uses them as advertisment...
But they don't mention the incredible prices for their moron courses, of course. ^^"

Funny thing is: they deny that whole Xenu thing.
Even (new) members don't hear that story until they are OT III--- and until they reach that OT III state, you can be sure that they are total nutjobs.
speaking of nutjobs: did you know that $cientology wants you to believe that humanity evolved from clams? xD

the destruction of everything, is the beginning of something new. your whole world is on fire, and soon, you'll be too..
L. Ron Hubbard should have stuck with sci-fi novels.....he actually wrote some really awesome novels in the 50-60's....aside from battlefield earth and mission earth, hes got tons more
funnily enough he was abusing uppers and downers as well as alcohol when he wrote the initial framework that is modern scientology
my family was involved with scientology when i was a kid
to answer your question sven, i think the main draw for people initially with scientology is the self-help/self analysis parts....which makes up the bulk of the beginner courses...
they are supposed to better enable you to run your life and control that which is controllable
i would not recommend it to anyone....its brain washing and basically prepping you for the later courses....
there is a lot more to it than that, but i dont have time to break it all down....
people should definitley read more on the subject cuz in my experience most people have no clue what scientology is about....its good to be informed

Re: Will Smith, proponent of freedom and...Scientology?
That is sad to hear about Will Smith. Just last Sunday, I was watching something on 60 Minutes about him-he seems like the kind of guy that would just laugh at such nonsense, but apparently not. I will pray that he gets out of that cult.

Farewell to hollow words

I haven't read any of his stuff cover-to-cover, but I picked up one of his paperbacks, opened up, and he's got some black character talking in ridiculously exaggerated jive, being disinterested in a gigantic fire taking place nearby (I assume) and being unnaturally obsequious.jonny5 wrote:L. It seemed like all the racism of a Redd Foxx skit without any of the humor or relevance. I dunno, maybe I should crack it open again sometime...it's sure to be different from what I've read before ;)
I don't know anything about scientology, except that I'm more down with faith based religions about aliens than about god.
I don't want to offend anyone, (so I shouldn't write this), buuuut,
It really makes me angry when people say they have jesus christ in their heart, because that's like saying that they have my favorite swear word in their heart.
*joke*
