It's just after 7:30 am, I'm absolutely knackered, but myself and a mate are off for a long drive to collect my Egret 2 today!
Wahey, all that board collecting is about to be paid the ultimate tribute, and finally somee decent shmup practice instead of playing on my liddle crt TV.
You have excellent taste in Japanese arcade cabinet selection...an Egret II will not dissapoint. You will find that the monitor is damn easy to rotate if you have an itch to play yoko based games such as shmups & arcade puzzlers.
And if you do have some dedicated Taito motheboard PCBs such as Taito FX-1, Taito G-Net or Taito F3, the supplied stereo hookup adapter that accompanies the 56-pin Jamma harness will output very nicely in true stereo. Just crank up that internal volume knob for some serious fun! ^_~
I thought I was tired before! Man, I'm absolutely shattered now. After collecting from the middle of nowhere (literally in the middle of the National Forest past Southampton), getting it back here and through the door, then re-arranging the furniture twice, I have absolutely no compulsion to even play the thing.
I'm gonna crash, will comment tomorrow.
Suffice to say it's a knockout cab, a shmuppers dream - but jeez is it HUGE!
i also was very impressed by the size of the screen when first time playing.
Never expected it to be so big.
WR scores can only be done on that kind of hi-tech devices

Yeah, that is to be expected when an Egret II cab has one of those 29" Nanao monitors installed. Some yoko arcade PCBs such as Capcom's 1986 Hyper Dyne Sidearms look too big when fired up on the ol' 29 incher -- have to adjust the sizing until it is more acceptable to your personal preference. ^_~
