After being held up in the trading section I'm back again !

I hate to see my favorite choice now sharing first spot with a choice that is even more ridiculous then the first choice.
Actually I can't believe there are people that chose that.
Goes to show that we humans are one fucked up species indeed.

If we would start teaching people it's ok to slaughter the handicapped I wouldn't even want to know how many people would see that as the right and natural thing to do after a short while.
Respect cause they are older goes exactly in the same boat.

To Michaelm:
The poll's question and the choices of answers are wrong on many levels , it's foolish to expect anything worthwhile out of it even strictly statistically speaking.

The question is not clear and can easily be misinterpreted.

There are not enough choices of anwers and some of them don't mean much if anything...

The only thing the topic and pool tells us is that the original poster hasn't put much mind on this subject matter before posting.

Ok, here's comes the way my thinking led to this poll.
All the time I hear people saying they want kids.
If you ask them why they don't have a well thought out answer.
Usually they say they have the right or something.

So before you go saying that I haven't put much thought in a stupid poll ask yourself how many 'stupid' people have asked themselves what it would mean to get kids.

As long as this adds up to way too many I guess I'm entitled to add several stupid polls all over the world without it harming anybody as opposed to getting kids cause you want to and not thinking about all the years to come were you will most likely just fuck 'm up like is happening daily on a very grand scale.

Actually it's an honor to be called stupid over this when you think about it.
The polls answers consist of many popular answers I heard over the years and the only real choice you could make which is of cause that kids never asked to be born in the first place.
It's ALWAYS the adults that decide they want to put another sorry soul on this world for their own pleasure and usually not much more.

First of all, wanting children is imprinted in us as biological species. That's one of the major reasons many people want to have kids but can't tell you why exactly. Life works that way; it chaotically multiplies unless a major controlling factor appears. If there's no such factor, the urge to mutiply goes on.

But that aside, you seem butthurt about it for some reason. No-one even called you stupid in the first place. What nimitz pointed out that the poll question and vote options weren't comprehensive.

What kind of reasoning is that? :D

Ah. Does that mean I can just fuck any girl I see on the streets cause I can't control the urge and therefore it is not considered rape ?
Fine logic you tell us here. Utterly stupid to be honest.
Also your explanation does not explain why there are people who do think straight and don't get kids just to get kids.

Eh, what ?!?

The same as the biological imprinted reasoning or is it better. I guess the latter.

Respect is something that people have to earn.

Should children respect adults? Yes. Should adults behave as respectable people? Yes. Which should happen first?

The egg came first. Chickens came from dinosaurs, which came from eggs. Martin Buber would have called the conundrum "a secret without a secret".

You're right it's all pointless. Let's just kill ourselves now eh?

The fact is, in a free society, people (even stupid people) are permitted to have children and they don't have to justify it to you. If you don't like it, then perhaps you will consider moving to China where that sort of thing is regulated.

Nice remark !
Why don't we two move to a country with no or almost no authority in place so I can murder you without ever getting caught cause that would just be the way it is over there.
But hey you lucky bastard were born into a rich civilized country and now you think you can make all sorts of stupid remarks which you yourself think are very clever and don;t even think twice about the problem at hand.

Mind you, in a free society there ARE people who go around killing others cause they've got all the freedom to do just that.
Luckily enough though there are more people who will just play nice.
But when it comes to putting another living soul on this rotten earth then all of a sudden it's your fucking right and you don't give a shit about the life of the new living soul.

Maybe you should just kill yourself to make this world just a tiny bit a better place.
Next time use your dumb head before you post ! Thanks very much !

First off, I dont have kids & except for a brief period ( very brief ) Ive never wanted any.
But thats just me. I do think, rightly or wrongly that people are, for the most part, psychologically imprinted from early childhood that they are 'supposed' to grow up & have a family of their own.

Im personally torn between the right to procreate at will & regulating the earths over abundant population.

I sort of have a '1984' view on procreation & wouldnt have a problem with newborns being "fixed" in some reversible way so that when they reach a certain age & have established the ability to support a family they can be officially reinstated to bunny status.

Total fantasy & would never happen & the very idea would appall the average person which is why I would never mention it to anyone except you bunch of yahoos. :P

EDIT: Oh my, this is post # 666 for me! Oh well, to HELL with it!
