If the unfortunate should occur, and your jump is being video taped, be sure that the video uses the jump sound effect from Donkey Kong upon impact and bounce ;)

In all seriousness, I can understand your nervousness. If you really don't want to, don't do it. If they give you shit, tell them to fuck off. Keeping your word is one thing, but doing something of this level because you promised after drinking, isn't the same. So if you don't want to jump, don't. It's really that simple.

strange fucking week this was.

Got a new chance at skydiving early this week and did so.

Utterly amazing experience and recommended to all.
5 seconds of your stomach turning over and after that: total enjoyment.
Even got to steer through some clouds myself and indeed got a DVD + pics from my event.

If i like the pics I may post one and I'll put the DVD stuff on youtube if I compress enough to allow posting it there.

But second time in 1 month I managed to lose my CC and a significant amount of money.
Falling asleep in a train is definitely NOT recommended. :(

unfortunately this has consequences again.

Mea Culpa again. :( :( :( (Bad Laydock!!!!)

well definetly good news you survived (and enjoyed) that.
We definetly need pics, and also the movie

The other accidence is just annoying, though.
I, once, also lost my purse in the train.
Where do you store your money, that it is so easy to get?

ELF is a gurl? :)

Good news on the awesome dive, bad news on the wallet. So I guess that means I'll put a hybrid congratulations/condolences in here.

p.s. wire some razors to your wallet and pants, that'll keep the fetchers out (also good against ball-biters)

I store it in my trousers/rucksack/wallet...
I recently really got a serious problem with alcohol though which complicates stuff a lot. :(

I wanna go skydiving hella bad. I'd rather sky dive than bungee jump though. It just SEEMS inherently more safe than being strapped to a rubberband that may or may not be long enough to keep you from smashing headlong into a big rock.

If you could go skydiving through a bunch of exploding fireworks it would be like shmups in real life@!

To my own surprise I was as calm as i could be.
Seeing the professionality of the instructors and people working at the paracentre gave me enough faith in it.

I'd love to have a second jump in the future.
But first I am going to have a try at indoor "skydiving" in a new vertical wind tunnel nearby that I just found out about...

*edited spelling on "future"

I'll bet that it'll be fun free-sailing in the wind at the indoor wind tunnel. Good to hear that you survived your parachute jumps. For some folks, the look on their faces when falling through the sky is hilarious and priceless indeed, especially the first time around. ^_~

I am falling with wide open mouth for the first 15 seconds for sure (as will be seen on the DVD recording of the jump). I talked to instructors and other jumpers who said this was pretty normal. Might be a stupid sight though...

One of the other guys I jumped with screamed like a little kid when falling out of the plane. Me, I was just too much in shock when first falling from the door of the Cessna.

Actually am now considering taking a course of Accelerated Free Fall (AFF) sometime soon when I have saved the money for it.
Diving off alone would be even more awesome I suppose.

Addict :P
But it's something I definitely want to do too when I'm high on cash.

What about roller coasters ? Do you like them ? Now ? :)

Hey, I am certainly not high on cash after my 2 accidents in 2 months time.
However low on cash you are though... just do it.
The experience is better than having the next CAVE game on release for sure!!!! :P

I will still never enter any roller coaster that goes upside down.
I suppose you know De Efteling... I'll never get into the Python but have been brave enough to try the Pegasus (wooden roller coaster) twice.
I have commited to abseiling from our local church now too though.
It's only 60 mtrs high though so I hope I'll be fine.
It's certainly more scary than skydiving...

Trust me, the scariest thing about the Python is going down before the loop. Just like any other roller coaster when it starts up. The loop is over before you even know it.

Unless the reason is that your just to lazy to secure what's in your pocket before entering, then I understand

Yeah, I'll trust you on that without hesitation.
It's the part b4 realizing the loop is over I am worrying about... :P

Received my DVD 's. One with pics and one with moving footage.

So as promised, here's a small pic.
My bald head was wrinkling soooo much on the moving footage (and it shows here a bit). Might be because of my loss of weight in the last 2 years (skin got looser?).

oooh, almost forgot the pic ;) :

Excellent photo. It makes vivid why I would never do that. I'm impressed.
