Elevator Action returns.... highly overlooked little game. Such an awesome game, if you like rolling thunder at all you'll LOVE this. Super fun. I suppose this is a shooter and not a slasher now that I look at the original post closer.
Eh, don't apologize for bringing up a great game, even if it wasn't a natural match to the specific request. EAR was *lots* of fun, and 1CCing it was very satisfying, and not even all that hard with some skill and some practice!

I haven't played it in years, but if I saw it in a cabinet somewhere, out the quarters would come!

I like Elevator Action Returns. I always play as the woman because her hair flows real purdy like.

As I said in that other thread: Mystic Defender on the Genesis.

Also, Conquest of the Crystal Palace on the Nes. That first level is classic.

Wow...that's pretty impressive stuff.

Like you, I used to be able to 1CC Shinobi back in the day, often without even dying (though I never could figure out how to get the extra life on the last Bonus Stage). It's highly doubtful that I could still 1CC it these days, though...that game did take some serious skill to get good at...skill and memorization.

To 1CC the arcade version of Cyber Police ESWAT must have been pretty difficult...I was never that good at it, though it was kind of hard-to-find in this area.

Robocop? 1CC? She-hucks. You must have been some kind of player, I guess. Especially in the later levels, there were just *so many* things that caused InstaDeath that I became appalled by it. But you're right: great movie-to-game conversion. The digitized speech really added to that quite a bit. "Thank you for your cooperation."

Almost any Batman game by Sunsoft is pure gold (don't like the Game Boy one so much though), if a bit easy

On Robocop on the 1st level if you had the 3 way you could shouo of screen before ED 209 came on , and he'd dead when he came on screen..

On Eswat I found it was best to take the levels slow as Enemies don't respawn.. Bosses I found if you save the special weapons you could kill the Bosses easy..

Fourth level Boss keep your special weapon back, one special and use on the three Baddies in Eswat Armour and use the second special on the boss.. Hold the fire button down he doesn't shoot..

The Tiger Boss you crouch by the door hit him with the special weapon as he jumps over you hit again as he comes back..

The Gorilla couldn't hit you on the far left corner providing you jumped..

And the ATV Boss providing you kept close to it and ducked in the gap's all the enemies knives would pass over you..

The two Robot bosses the right one would jump over you and join the left boss, if you ducked and used the special it would take there armour away, and they never seemed to duck when they lost there armour..

I just play them both a lot, wish I could complete Shadow Dancer I saw a no shurken finish on the Arcade Shadow Dancer on You Tube could never play it to that level

Shadow Dancer no-shuriken mode is one of the best things ever. I need to finish the game sometime (got to the final boss).

There's also THUNDER JAWS

All should try it for the cheesy horror movie monsters and other silly stuff at least once.

I enjoyed both the ActRaiser games. The 2nd was regarded as something of a failure but I found both the gameplay and setting/graphics/style to be excellent.

Yeah, same here. I'd rather not worry about the strategy part. Plus, it gets an unwarranted reputation as an overwhelmingly tough (granted, it is on the hard end and there are like no popcorn enemies) and bad game by people who never bothered to learn how to use the glide correctly.

Magical Cat Adventure is a platform shooter from1993 that plays more like a console game than an arcade game. It's emulated in Mame. The pace is slow but there's some nice graphics at least.

Yea, I just downloaded Little Ralph on the PSN and what an amazing game. My buddy tried telling me it's like Symphony of the Night. Totally different but an awesome game nonetheless.

One that I have been playing on the SNES lately is Kishin Douji Zenki - Batoru Raiden. Its one of several in a series I believe. I haven't played the others though but this one is pretty fun.
